You come here for the charm of a small town-like cinema , not exactly for the outstanding quality of their theaters. Come Tuesdays, Thursdays, & weekends before 11 for cheaper tickets on certain movies
this is my neighborhood cinema an it's the best. The guys are so nice, and you have what you need: a big screen , popcorns and seats.
Blockbuster and indie flick fans can treat themselves (or their dates) to a half-priced matinee show ticket or post-movie drinks at neighboring sweets shops like The Chocolate Room.
The best movie theatre in the neighborhood and by far one of the best in brooklyn. No stadium seating or Dolby anything. Just good movies , nice people and a theater that has a personality.
They have cherry coke and candy stored in the freezer. This is the stuff childhood dreams are made of. FROZEN CANDY ! CHERRY COKE !
This place is an old school neighborhood staple, playing mainstream movies and the occasional indie flick , for ticket prices significantly lower than other NY theaters.
For years rickety uncomfortable seats...but now comfy seats , leg room, and new bathrooms . Quite the haul up several flights of steps if your film is at Theater 5, and you're differently abled.
Friendly staff , nice selection of movie posters decorate the hallways. Feels like the owner loves movies . Bathroom downstairs is clean ????. Great neighborhood .
Love living next to this little gem of a theater. Reminds me of my hometown theater. Only complaint, guy at door needed to check my purse as I'm walking in w/my mom. Seriously buddy?
Don't miss the NYTimes Who Made That? Popcorn tear sheet above the water fountain . Popcorn at the theater dates back to 1931.
This is my local theatre. Indie films at a decent price (cheaper on Tuesdays and Thursdays) with reasonable (read: quiet , cell phones in pockets) clientele.
Great neighborhood cinema which is often a good place to see the latest release - away from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan movie theaters .
$10 movie tickets, old school movie theater vibe in a great Brooklyn neighborhood . Definite alternative to the multiplexes that now dominate the cities and burbs
Love this neighborhood indie theater with cherry coke on tap and the best opening credits that will bring you back to the 80s.
The Cobble Hill-based theater is a convenient (and slightly less-packed) alternative to feature film venues in downtown Brooklyn and Manhattan.
It doesn't matter what movie you bought tickets for: 80's style opening credits welcoming you to Cobble Hill Cinemas and asking you to silence your pager will make it worth your money.
my uncle was in this theater, when the Japanese bombed, pearl harbor. that's how historical this place is to the neighborhood . ..
Small but efficient. Eat, drink, and get that. Caffeine fix before the movie ...$4.50 for a small nestle machine mochaccino. The nacho prices were just as ridiculous.
A cute spot with way cuter prices. I got nachos , popcorn and a juice for $12.50, a great price for the theatre! I love saving $$$.
My kids bailed on me for the movie . I was able to get a refund from the box office super easy. Very much appreciated
Small theaters, good slant for screen visibility, but sometimes the sounds off or projection hasn't lined up their masking correctly. Still relatively cheap tickets in comparison to a Regal.
Conveniently located small cinema in Cobble Hill with quirky theatre layouts.
Cute small theater. Reminds me of little home town cinemas . No frills. Delicious popcorn though!
This is what movies use to be - a simple experience where the star is the movie itself. Can the corporate rhetoric. Embrace the nostalgia of Americana.
Small town theater vibe. Has everything you need and very convenient for the neighborhood .
I have personal beef with this theater bc they once made me "check in" a crossaint at the door, but otherwise they're chill .
Cute , OLD theater. A bit of hassle when full. Old tech. But quaint. Would be a great place to watch older films
Small and cozy theater with comfy plush seats , cheap tickets and nice crowd.
A cute movie theatre that's maybe a better spot for indie flicks than action.
Arrive at least 15 mins before your show starts. More if it's the movie 's opening day. Otherwise, good luck getting a seat.
Okay Indy cinema experience. Seats could be better (and cleaner), screens could be bigger, sound system could sound clearer. Food is alright. Convenient if you live in the area.
Junior Mints are the perfect snack , and at this theatre you can get them frozen.
Small theatre, but good tix prices. Also located in an area with lots of restaurants and bars .
no frills cinema that's not without its charms. don't be disappointed by lack of up-to-date cinema technology. embrace its small town tackiness instead, such as the 90s era PSAs before each screening.
Come early on opening nights as the lines can be long. Great little theatre though. Less of the rudeness of the larger theatres. Read more
excellent matinee prices in a hometown environment
Love my neighborhood theatre! Great selection of films and awesome 80s credits before your show.
BEST place to see a (non-CGI) movie in Brooklyn. Period.
quiet quaint theater that shows indies and big budget movies
Old school feel. Best theater in town .
Support your neighborhood ... And avoid people who like to have conversations with the screen (yes you UA Court moviegoers)..
Their hot chocolate is so good, with a dash of cinnamon !
Small quaint theater with a good movie selection
Must be the cheapest place to see a movie in NYC. First show on Sat and Sun is $6.50, and I've heard all day Tues and Thurs is the same. Charming place too!
Cute little theater - we like its charm
Bargain matinees and discount Tuesdays and Thursday shows. What more can a movie-goer ask for??
Awesome vintage intro before your film . Turn off your pagers !
Nice place with a cozy atmosphere and always a good selection of movies .
Here is the awesome opener: <aclass="entity url"rel="nofollow" href="http://y2u.be/UuZIsszHDLc"target="_blank" data-sig="nYnY2dRhQbemEtyVrUUQQbVa/B8=" onmousedown="fourSq.ui.OutgoingLink.mousedown($(this), event)" data-source="tip-text">http://y2u.be/UuZIsszHDLc</a>
$9 movies on thursday (and tuesday i believe)
Quiet clean theatre A nice oasis Perfect for me time - Whitney Jordan
Cozy, roomy, and fun food specials based on the movies playing. Best way to see a film. - Marzy Hart
Omg the popcorn is incredible. I literally will go back just to eat that popcorn - Sofia Nuñez-Morales
You can’t go wrong with the ice cream sammich — peanut butter cookie with Sumatra coffee ice cream would be my recommendation. It’s essentially an edible orgasm. Excellent service, too. - Brandon F.
Can't beat TJ's prices especially on organic produce when in stock. Their products are comparable to any leading food brand. They just created their own Balsamic Glaze which makes me very happy! - Tina Cernero
