The STONEHOUSE bar is Michigan's oldest continuously operating bar, located in an 1860's two story Victorian house. The "House" was the clubhouse for the legendary Purple Gang. The Purple's were Capone's motor city muscle and ran his illegal enterprises in and around the Detroit area.

A classic nicer-than-a-dive biker bar for people who might not be riding. Even better if you are.
Mike the owner is a great guy. But watch out for the free shot(s) of polish whiskey !
Been closed for years. Hoping to see it open back up one day soon
Bring a strap just sayin
Biker-friendly bar !
Divey as they come, but rocking when there is a band. What a gem! - Samir Nazir
Cool little bar with a good atmosphere and live music. One of the few midtown spots not over run with hipsters. - Dillon Gray
This bar has to be, hands down Detroit's best kept secret. Its has a cool atmosphere, great customers, the best jukebox around and of course the best bartender as well. - Katie Palonis
