When you think you've got to be close to the end, you're not. But it's so worth the time and effort spent on miles of rocky stairs once you get to the arch. Beautiful!
The arch at the summit is a natural rock formation and provides views of the three Flatirons, the northern Front Range, and the cities of Boulder and Denver! The summit elevation is 6,900 ft.
The loop to get to the Royal Arch Trail is moderate but don't be fooled, 0.8mi of pain is up ahead. Gorgeous views , specially the arch. There's a false summit 0.2 miles before the arch, KEEP GOING! :)
Steep hike , but worth it
Length: 3 miles roundtrip Difficulty: Moderate to difficult Elevation Gain: 5,680 to 7,130 Estimated Time: 2 hours
Make sure the route you take. It's more difficult to find the way down than coming up.
Don't give up half the way.
