The zoo was beautiful — I loved all the old buildings mixed in with the new. Also, I was so impressed at how interactive everything was! It definitely was a great time!

This is a great little zoo . They've been doing a lot of renovating and adding new exhibits . If you miss the elephants at the Detroit Zoo , they have a great elephant habitat! New aquarium is awesome.

The new Natural History museum is worth a visit all on its own. It houses reptiles and insects in addition to a free roaming frog exhibit and taxidermy exhibit .

The aviary foyer is one of the best places to cool down at the zoo . There's a stone bench that is quite cold to sit on! Great for a speedy cool-down. The view isn't too bad either!

Be sure to check out the vegetable garden towards the back. So beautiful! The fruits and veggies are grown for the animals:)

It is chalked full of animals from all over the world, an lovely aquarium , 2 merry-go-rounds and family friendly fun for all ages.

We were there for the Dart Frog Dash 5k and after the race you got to enjoy this amazing zoo for free!! Very Nice zoo !

Get there early and plan to spend 3-4 hours to adequately appreciate the various animals, catch the feedings and zoo keeper talks.

Check out the Christmas lights while they are available. Make your way to the aquarium to warm up if you're visiting in the winter.

Went for the Lights Before Christmas . Fun atmosphere , but not all exhibits are open this time (December) of year.

Some of the exhibits are oddly shaped making the animals hard to see. Also, you can’t get close to the giraffes unless you pay to feed, can’t see some animals unless you pay for the trolly...$$$

Having a zoo membership in the summer for my family is the greatest all it costs us is gas and food to pack to go to the zoo any day

They have a huge blue tree that's one of the top 5 to see in the WORLD!!!! How cool is that! And it's right here in Toledo!

Start in the original section of the zoo and finish on the side where you pay for admission

Penguin beach is cool because you can get closer to the animals than before... but it's such a small exhibit that it feels underwhelming

This is a nice little zoo . Unfortunately Emerson the tortoise wasn’t out yet, so we might come back to see him. Just an FYI, they don’t accept cash, so bring your credit card.

The lemonade is amazing and they have a good variety at the carnivore cafe !

I like the new parking . It's pretty cool that the have solar panels in the lot that double ad shade while walking to and from your car
