Jack and Jill drank their way up the hill . The Golden book murals take you back to times you may or may not want to remember. The cocktails , however, take you to a place where details matter.
A lost underground Manhattan bar , which is off the beaten path. We came on a Monday night & it reminded us of an incredible week we had in Czech Republic! This place is a hidden gem in the E. Village !
Sexy and dark atmosphere with excellent cocktails ! Perfect for an intimate date night or happy hour (until 8 pm on weekdays) with girlfriends.
Cool hidden little gem. It is a very romantic place where you can sit for hours and talk. Cocktails are fine! Hey make everything themselves, which is quite cool.
Funky underground cocktail bar that feels a bit like the "old" East Village . Can get very crowded (and hot) on a weekend night.
Come for happy hour which is everyday between 4p-8p and cocktails are 2-for-1. Limited seating . I had the bourbon based Waterloo Sunset and rye based Satellite of Love - both were fantastic.
nice little hidden place , excellent for talking, great music and of course super cocktails
The Hong Kong garden and astral plane are premo choices. Go for happy hour for $8 drinks (reg $13) and less crowds.
Love this little speakeasy bar , that you can easily walk by and not know its existence. Dark, candlelit , small and intimate . I seem to always get seat here.
Cheapest, good cocktails I’ve found on this trip to NYC. Happy hour , 1/2 price cocktails 5-8 everyday. This is the Rumble.
The ambiance is exclusive but not stuffy, and, as the name suggests, most people here love and let love. There’s a long, comfortable corner on your left when you enter, and two booths for cuddling. Read more
Small, hidden gem of east village ! Cocktails are really worth a try
It's such a hidden germ and a cute place. They have amazing drinks! Hong Kong Garden is a must have! Plus Jessica is an awesome bartender . HH $8/drink 5-8pm from Thursday - Saturday.
Gold medal worthy post-dinner date spot . Hong Kong Garden is delicious and has a little Yuzu kick.
Avoid the Hong Kong cocktail . It sounds like it's gonna be awesome (gin , lemon , honey , peppers ) but it's not. Other than that, great spot to take a date after dinner .
Cozy and intimate . The cocktails rival the other great cocktail bars of the city . Snag a booth for your group.
Good vibes, refreshing drinks for $12, quick service , mostly couple. The music is a bit too loud
Reynolds is a fantastic mixologist - sit at the bar , watch him throw tumblers in the air, squeeze bizarre bitters into drinks, and order off the menu if everything on the menu is too floral
“Up” is in a glass with a stem, “tall” is in a tall glass.
Spicy drink lovers: Hong Kong ... and the rum roll. Great drinks over all. Bartenders know what they are doing.
Great drinks and dark cozy vibe. Come early to grab seats because it's small.
There’s a second bar in the back of the courtyard with a lot more seating but the buzzy front is where u wanna be
It’s such an awesome bar , hidden gem near to the Tompkins park . Great house cocktails ????
They're serving the "Lovers of Today" cocktail , with gin , yuzu peppers , lemon , honey , and cucumber for NYC Cocktail Week (July 13th through 17th). Read more
Cocktails way more accessible than other cocktail bars . Drinks were good and super cozy atmosphere but idk if I would come not during happy hour .
Delicious cocktails , but a bit expensive . Great atmosphere and music .
Vey charming, tiny little bar . Fun to sit at the bar and talk to the bartender if it isn't busy.
if you don't see anything appealing to you on the drink menu, tell the bartender what you like and he/she will make you something special.
hong kong garden : gin , lemon , honey , yuzu pepper , and cucumber
$7 dollar happy hour cocktails can't be beat. Try the Marquee Moon -- it's like boozy pink lemonade !
This place is cozy and sweet. Great craft cocktails and good music . Stick to the menu and tip your bartender .
A great date spot - snag a cozy booth
Amazing cocktails in a low key , charming, somewhat hidden nook of the East Village .
Low-key, dark, small and moody place for cocktails - Another girl, another planet - best Jasmine infused vodka cocktail ever.
Original cocktails in this bar . There are big booths for groups, but the place is limited so better be there early
Fantastic drinks and moderately priced . Never crowded but be prepared to stand.
Great spot and great drinks! Can get packed. Def try to snag a booth !
Do not make the same mistake I made though: this is a speakeasy through and through, meant to be intimate/romantic; just (usually) has no line/wait, $13 drinks that are pretty good
The cocktails are amazing and go so well with the happy hour till 8:00
Small speakeasy that has great drinks. Less expensive than other bars of its type but the drinks deliver . Remember to Swig your drink.
They make their own syrups right at the bar , including the delectable Lavender Honey . Don't order off the menu - just let Reynolds choose something for you.
Good cocktails , chill spot , and slightly cheaper than similar spots
Great cocktail bar with happy hour , friendly bartender , and very comfy booths .
Decent drinks, albeit a bit contrived, but they're made well . The hidden space is cool without trying too hard.
Good drinks, cute/sexy atmosphere.
Great tiny bar with awesome small menu of cocktails .
After hearing so much about it, I decided to have a Waterloo Sunset . So glad I did. It's infectious.
Good place to go on a date if you fancy some cocktails and good (loud ) music .
Small bar , great cocktails . I can't think of a better place to gather with people.
Critics' Pick winner of The Village Voice Best of NYC 2012 Best Upscale Dive Bar !

Be prepared to wait, but the cocktails are worth it! Their whiskey section is to die for. - Kim Pham
Low key spot in the day. At night this is a good place that's close to everything/not as crowded/ but still fun. - Tom Maxim
Lots of tv's, great bloody marys and buck hunter/pinball. Friendly staff, chill vibe and all around great neighborhood dive. You can even order food in, no problem. - Ranu Rajkarnikar
