Open at 5:30 for dinner and gets full at 5:31, so get 5min earlier ;) great food, service and crafted beer . Here it says it's "$" expensive but I would say it's more like "$$$", so, be prepared :)
Spicy pork on flat udon was perfect! Grilled salmon on rice with dashi was delicious, and yellowfin sashimi was great as always. Great place for a late dinner .
Minced Pork and Egg with flat udon was life changing. Everything was delicious and the ambience took us back to our favorite izakaya in Kyoto
Appetizers special 3 for $14 is fantastic value. Staff are friendly and attentive. Kimchi udon is ????lively vibe, easy to see how they've done 30 years here!
The grilled mackerel was super yummy. Also loved the gyu tan and tontoro. Get a ramune cocktail while you're there!
Perfect, small, cozy , authentic spot for a quick Japanese lunch bowl - teriyaki chicken was really delicious. ????(No sushi for lunch though ????)
Great service, great sashimi , great spicy calamari ! Loved watching the chef frying rice , will try that dish next time I come here!
Try the Assorted Oden - In Bonito broth: Egg , Daikon Radish , Atsuage (fried tofu ), Konnyaku (Japanese yam cake ), Gyusuji (beef tendon ), Ika-Tem (Squid rolled in fish cake )
Delicious and fun izakaya spin in Vancouver. Don't miss a trip to any Guu's when in Vancouver!
As close as I have come in Canada to what it feels like to eat in a bustling Tokyo restaurant . Crowded , but they're quick. Great food.
Small, but great tapas . Tends to always be full so make reservations or be prepared to wait.
Came here for the great food for the first time, and for nostalgia ever since.
Try the Okonomiyaki - Deep fried squid and cabbage pancake with tonkatsu sauce and mustard mayo , garnished with bonito flakes and nori . Yummy.
Got the pork udon without the pork . Tasty and fresh. Very loud place though.
Delicious food - amazing portions for an izakaya !
My @pandafoodie recommends the spinach gomae to start off. Fresh and perfectly seasoned.
The tuna and avocado sashimi with garlic sauce is excellent! Sit in front of Chef Masa and watch him professionally chug beers in between dishes.
Tuna tataki , ebi mayo and yaki udon sooo yummy!!! The beat Japanese restaurant in Vancouver ????????????
Everything here is delicious. Get the Chicken Karage and Yaki Udon !
Tried just about everything on the menu and it was all fantastic.
Chicken Karage is awesome. Cauliflower with curry sauce good for vegetarians .
Best Japanese in vancouver , tataki tuna , fried prawns , and everything on left side of menu is awsome! Dont order desserts though - horrible
Order the tuna takake and sashimi 5 kinds.... Yummy! Super worth waiting 25 minutes to get a table!
Taiko Wasabi (a little eight tentacled yumminess)Hotato Butter (yeah scallops)Ebi Mayo (Throw another shrimp in the fryer - mate)Karubi (Some Guu Guu Moo Moo)
Another good place to eat alone! Food quality is acceptable as Japanese small restaurant 居酒屋
Tako wasabi , pork belly , squid legs , and the ribeye will make your tummy happy.
My @pandafoodie recommends: BBQ eel , mushroom and gratin rice .
Great! Be prepared to wait for a table but it is really worth it.
Food is very good and the atmosphere is something you would see in japan.
Chicken karaage is unreal as well as the kimchi udon .
Try the Karaage - Little fried chicken bites . Except they're not little, they're pretty big. Moist and crispy .
The OG Guu. Their specials seemed more creative and appealing than the other locations.
Great food, service, attitude, experience and price.
Almond tofu is really good!!!
This Guu location is great for lunch . Go for one of the grilled fish options.
foood! good vibe here, good for a snack
Guu is love!! Try the mochikin and the salmon salad ...
Great lunch special under $11. Just be careful sometimes it takes a while when it is busy at lunch
Try the Baby Octopus - How cute are these! Totally crispy and delicious.
Guu'd place for lunch , though my Saba-Tei was average. The night brings out its better dishes!
Excellent japanese restaurant for very good prices
Authentic feel and food! Amazing every time :)
Try the Bbq Eel , Mushroom And Rice Gratin - Alice says this is Japanese potato skins .
Try the Barbecue Eel and Mushroom Gratin - Kind of like okonomoyaki but with cheese .
The kimchi udon is fantastic
Great izakaya with an authentic feel and affordable eats. Be prepared for welcoming shouts of "irrashaimase."
Try the Baby Octopus - This was the most impressive dish we tried.
Take some away and get a cute bag!
Great selection of izakaya
