If you use the Fuel Purchase Option and travel over 100 miles they will charge you for the full tall regardless of how much fuel you came in with. Wish they'd told us that before we filled up.
58 minutes later, as we headed to our car, the line zig zagged 7 times & then literally went all the way across the lobby to the bus area. It will be 90 minutes for them. Now 6 agents, up from 5 #fail
They are frauds, I rented online through USAA for $145, final bill after declining everything... $400. What a nightmare. I've never experienced such fraudulent activity.
So finally got our car. When someone finally helped us they were very helpful and gave us vouchers for 100 dollars off our next car rental :

Wish I would have read the tips ahead of time .... So slow. 45 minutes wait - after checked in (yes - reserved well in advance)
Classic bait and switch...we prepaid for a car and they offered us a less expensive one...ended up charging us more than 2X the original price.
Quick and easy with reservations . Plus, a nice gentleman offered us maps of Arizona and bottled water!

As a Presidents Club Member, I love Hertz. However, my rental car this wee was filthy. It looked like a 2 year old child puked Sprite on the inside of the front windshield. What the hell?
My reservation with AAA discount was $27.59 a day but turned into $79.00 a day because they upgraded me. A total rip off! No more AAA, Hertz, or Phoenix for me.

Leave extra time in case all the return check in team takes lunch at the same time! Cost me an extra 20 minutes.
Waiting a crazy long time for a car, even with a reservation and all paperwork completed. Must be break time in the garage . Next time, National. They never make me wait.
Watch out for a scam...they upgrade your car without telling you, and yet put you in the smallest car out there. Pay for navigation, not there. Long wait time, never enough cars in store. Skip!
READ the estimate of charges screen when the agents show it to you. It will show you what is being charged.

Staff is friendly , but service is exceptionally slow. Apparently they are "short staffed". Pretty ridiculous for the #1 car rental company in the US.

HORRIBLE!! Car "reserved " months ago. Was told it would be45min wait ended up being 1 1/2 hours. Mgmt wouldn't compensate in any way.Obviously not a 1 time instance as many reviews say the same thing.

Hertz so slow. Then wants more money after prepay. They don't add tax or airport fees until you check in it $132 more . Budget tell fees and tax up front.

Get the gold card and skip the lines .
Staff is in remote location, you talk to a person over the phone. It's very annoying and impersonal. Also they wouldn't honor the four square special.

Don't ever come here. For starters, they said the wait was 30 minutes to get my reserved car. That ended up being an hour. Should've gone next door to enterprise. I've never waited for a rental.
Told to hop out of line to check in at the kiosk and then ushered back into the line as a cutter.

Customer service here sucks. Here less than five mins and already heard two screaming customers and one screaming agent. No wonder they offer you water while in their long lines .
