Great museum to understand the pain Catholicism caused in cartagena with the inquisition and the history of this melting pot (city ) of cultures. Highly recommended
A must visit. The sheer evil of the Catholic inquisition is well demonstrated in this museum of torture instruments.
Good place to understand the history of this city and it's people. Also good to understand the pain that Catholicism caused in Latin America. Highly recommended
Seat of the evil Catholic Punishment Tribunal of the Holy Office that sent over 800 locals to their death for magic, witchcraft and blasphemy.
If you speak other language other than spanish, I recommend you to get the audioguide. There are few annotations in english, and none in other languages .
It seems like the museum was opened many years ago, they made a few replicas , none original objects of inquisition, and forgot to take care of the exposition . Very few objects, with even fewer labels
Be aware that most of the museum will be in Spanish. If you can read and understand Spanish, you're going to love it. Not recommended for no Spanish speaking people
Cartagena has some nice spots, but like castillo de san felipe, there are no labels, organized tips and infos. They do not care about organizing the spot with infos and guidelines. Poor managemement.
Great place to learn about the Spanish Inquisition
Less than 10 English language notations out of more than 100. And they focus on the building not the exhibits . Torture exhibits are bad replicas . Not worth the $16.000 I paid. The AC was nice though.
Procure o Guia Professor Tony. Além de grande conhecimento histórico , é divertidíssimo.
Vale la pena, excelente colección
Hermoso!
