The biggest & main plaza in Cusco. Surround by the cathedral and many shops. Sitting there and watching people is really enjoyable.
You can do some great deals here while buying cigarettes from street vendors. Double check if the cigarettes they sell come from Bolivia, if so, max price is 10soles for Marlboro.

In Inca times the plaza called Huacaypataun was twice as large as it is today. It was the Heart of Inca Cusco and remains the heart of the modern city .

They have to emphasize the Inca origin and belittle the Spanish influence for turistic reasons. Fair enough. The truth is that the old part o this city Is extremely Spanish. Looks like a Spanish city .

Visit the cathedral . It's worth it even if you're not a church person.
Remember that there are cars driving around on the old cobble stone road , so cross @ the crosswalks.
Avoid the vista tour , the tours in the double deckers. Expensive and must of the tour is spend going to one place.
Always visit the mail plaza of a village and city . So, here no difference.

Watch out for the old ladies that try to pass a baby goat for a llama or alpaca. You'll get ripped off. If you decide to take a picture with it pay 1 sol. They'll try to take you for 5 sol.
