Casa da Música was conceived to mark 2001, the year in which Porto was Cultural Capital of Europe, and it is the first new building in Portugal to be entirely dedicated to music - to the presentation and public enjoyment of music, to music education and to the creation of music.

Find an excuse to go. Figure out whoever is playing and go never if you're not a big fan. The venue is beautiful. Then go up to the 7th floor for a panoramic view .
Check timetables to schedule a tour !!! (You have to go on a tour to get inside the place) and It really worth it!!!
I found the tour very interesting to get to know the amazing building and learn a bit on acoustics . Starts at 11:00 or 16:30 everyday, 4€ per adult

Best House in Porto to listen to a live classical music concert specially in 'sala Suggia' and very good recording studios in the underground floors !

Combine your show with a nice menu in the restaurant upstairs afterwards. EUR 15 pp. Ask for it at the cash office , even if you already have your tickets.

Some say modern but I feel weird architecture :-P However the bar at top floor has great rooftop . :-)
Go to the top floor and take a look at the amazing view of the garden at the roundabout.

Did the 4pm tour for 4euro. Passionate tour guide who convinced us to see a concert , including 3 course meal for 36euro. Such good value - concert sounded great and food was some of the best in Porto.

Serralves is magnificent for the whole. The museum, the house, the tea house and the gardens. It's nice to walk around the gardens and enjoy the view and the atmosphere. - Valentim Santos
