The only thing better than the mole , the salsa bar and the damn delicious casual Oaxacan food is how cheap it is to eat yourself silly. Brace yourself for a crowd, but it's worth it. [Eater 38 Member] Read more
Best Mexican food in Seattle ! The carne asado tacos are great and I really like the Black mole chicken . As someone who has had great Mexican food from living in LA, this place is great!
Enchilada was AMAZING. According to my sister, carne asada tacos were the best she's had in her life. Chips come with one free refill! Definitely recommend that for the complimentary the salsa bar .
We had the tacos al pastor and the mole oaxaqueno with pork rib - both were fantastic. Their outdoor covid setup is awesome - fire tables and larger tables, music , dividers, lights; cute ambiance
My favorite Seattle restaurant ! I go there every weekend. I've tried most of their dishes, and they're all good.. I go there every weekend for a chile relleno and a Mexican hot chocolate .
I really loved the fresa margarita and halibut fish tacos . The salsa on the tacos was perfectly spicy/sweet. The space is a tight squeeze & fairly crowded but the food is worth it.
Everything is beyond authentic and delicious! Portions are a bit small and you pay a price, but it's worth it!
The portions could be bigger and some of the staff could be more personable (a few are excellent) but the food is top notch, consistent, and truly authentic . I love this place so much!
Everything looks delicious here! I've tried the Mole ' Negro Oaxaqueno and it was super!! Also serve yourself at the salsa bar !!
Reminded me of a long lost place in Chicago called the Twisted Lizard. Great atmosphere and quality food that foodies won't enjoy because there's not umbrellas for the margaritas .
Caldo de pescado (fish soup ), piping hot fresh chips , guacamole , carne asada steak platter, everything was perfection. Among the best Mexican ever is to say the least! Coming back for the mole next.
It's referred to as simply La Carta by a lot of folks, because, well who wants to tackle that last word? It's pronounced as in, "Let's take a leisurely down Ballard Avenue for some tasty Mexican food !"
Start it off with a basket of chips & guac and a trip to the salsa bar . For your entree, try the tacos al pastor - super tasty.
Hear ye, hear ye. It's official: finally, good Mexican food has made it to Seattle. Better yet, it may be the best Mexican I've ever had anywhere. The lamb is melt-in-your-mouth delicious!
House molè is insanely delicious! Get it with pork and tortillas on the side. You won't regret it.
No matter how few days I'm home, I make plans to eat here. Best Mexican in the PNW. The Mole will have you licking the plate. Halibut tacos are a must-have as well .
The carne asada was one of the choicest pieces of skirt steak I've had. Delicious guacamole . The mole was given high marks as well .
Of course the food is amazing, salsa bar is great and the margaritas are lethal. But little known is how damn good the Lemonade is too!
three best dishes: pork mole , entomatadas w/ green sauce , and halibut tacos . order a side of guacamole . drink horchata (when they have it).
Carne asada quesadilla is awesome! As is the guacamole . Definitely go during HH for more reasonable prices.
Mole Negro is very good. Albóndigas is a must too. Cafe de holla is also very good.
Had the chorizo and eggs from the lunch menu . Super good. Love the vibe of the place.
The tamales mole was delicious as was the house margarita ! We went at lunch and did not have to wait for a table
Chile Relleno , incredible. As is the guacamole . My friend got the carne asada which looked amazing... I think next time I'm getting the Mole - it's the House Special . Bustling at dinner time. Read more

Servers are exceptionally unfriendly, but the food make the trip worth a try; it's very flavorful and the prices are very fair .
As an expert chips and guac consumer, I can confidently say these were great!
This is probably the best mexican food I've ever had in my life. And I've had a lot of mexican food . Definitely try it.
Great authentic Oaxacan Mexican food . Fresh salsa bar & no greasy orange cheese in sight!
It’s possible to order by phone and ask them to come outside to handle payment and food pickup, but it’s not their normal system
I haven't even received my entree yet, but I feel compelled to tell you that this place has THE best guacamole I've ever had... Hands down.
Everything is delicious. Coming from SoCal this was a much needed find.
This little Mexican restaurant may appear too slick to be good, but it is. You’ve never seen an all-female line rock the kitchen the way they do. -Maria Hines, Top Chef
Did someone say MOLÉ ????? Yes, this dish did. Taste-flavor-profile on tops. ????
Everything is amazing. Try the pozole or anything with the molè , they're all amazing!!!
Try the lamb birria - Melty-soft chunks of braised lamb in a citrusy mole-style sauce with beans, rice , and tortillas . Basically orgasmic.
CHICKEN MOLE !!!!!!!! Will make you moan and groan ????????????????
Quesadillas fritas with a Negra Modelo = fabuloso.
Excellent mole tamales and outstanding tacos de pastor
Cesar is the best server here. He's always more than helpful and kind.
Best Black Mole eva, and I'm from AZ I know mole ! Try every single one of the salas with the piping hot chips !
Seattle's not exactly known for its Mexican food , but Oaxaca delivers something pretty special!
Salsa bar is radtaz and the tacos al pastor are the best I've had in Seattle.
Sit at the counter and watch the tortillas being made fresh to order.
Best Mexican restaurant in town . Always a queue.
Best mexican food in Seattle . My advice - sit at Damon's bar , drink his amazing margaritas and get the Halibut tacos !!
Amazing, interesting micheladas .
