The Yonghe Temple (Chinese 雍和宮, pinyin Yōng hé gōng, Palace of Peace and Harmony), also known as the "Yonghe Lamasery", or -popularly- the "Lama Temple", is a temple and monastery of the Geluk School of Tibetan Buddhism.

Lovely temple complex. A must see in Beijing after the forbidden city . Don't forget your free incense on the left as you walk in. Join the locals and offer some to the buddhas!
Come here for a peaceful moment, and mindful reflection. Men step left foot first over the thresholds, ladies step right foot first. If you take photos, only outside - not in any of the buildings.
Thats one of my fav temples in Beijing. If you can come here during the week. And you cant bring your own incense anymore. But you will get it for free. (After you pay 25RMB for entrance)
People are saying prayers, burning incense and there are a lot of Buddhas here. The architecture is really worth of paying a visit, also it is a good place to have a peaceful time .
Nice different temple , easy to reach by metro (just remeber to walk left once your out to go to the main entrance). Ticket should be still just 25¥, enjoy this very unique tibetan style Temple
Really impressive and well preserved temple . A 85 m tall Buddha statue made from a single piece of sandlewood! China gov could not destroy this place during their cultural revolution of 1970’s
In the hustle and bustle of Beijing, this was a welcomed opportunity to slow down and enjoy the still beauty of the temple . So happy I made the trip.
Be respectful of beautiful temple and the people praying and just use a few sticks of incense as suggested so you're not holding a torch.
Lama Buddha temple originated from Tibet now standing In Beijing. Massive Buddha statue made from Sandalwood (250m ) - quiet place to pray and relax
Be prepared to take the audio guide gadget to know more underneath story of this historical & spiritual old Buddhist temple . Famous, best scenic views & crowded tourist spot in Beijing. 11122014
There is a Buddha statue that is 18mtr high... An evidence of Chinese good tradition, temple is well maintained and many visitors come for praying
1) a must-visit in Beijing, if only for its unbelievable buddha statue made entirely of one single piece of sacred tree ; 2) must-go place for prayers; 3) avoid the crowd during national holidays
This place needs more time to walk in every door and disvover different sections of the temple . Don't miss the museum and the giant statue of wooden buddha!
One of the largest Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries in the world. In the heart of busy Bejing, slow down and reflect on how awesome it is to wander such a historical and spiritual place!
Beautiful, a very magical experience. I went there by mid morning and was quite calm .
My favorite site in BJ. It’s clean and the visitors are respectful of the temple . Bathrooms are equipped with TP and soap, a rarity in public sites.
Definitely worth a visit! Maybe get the audio guide if you're really interested to the story of this place. A couple of hours should be fine.
I've spent many days here over my years here in the city . You'll find peace in the smell of the incense and silence within the temples .
One of the most beautiful temple that I visit in beijing, u can pray like locals here n understand how they feel.
An active site of worship, walk through clouds of incense and layers of temple to see the intricate and grand Buddha statues .
As you progress through the temple , Buddha's get bigger and bigger. Don't forget to pick up an audio tour .
There's free incense for visitor on the right side, a small locket after the enterance park . Don't need to buy outside
Beautiful place to find tranquility. Take the audio guide to find out more out of Tibetan Buddhism. Beautiful statues and impressive to see all the pilgrims. .
Fascinating place to speand an hour; do your research before visiting so you can get the proper experience.
The hutong across from here is worth the trip alone! Wudaoying hutong is a well hidden gem of beijings expat crowd.
Get the box of incense and burn 3 at one spot and not everything all at once. The temple goes very deep.
Probably the most overrated sight in all of Beijing, its no reason to visit it if you have ever visit another Tibetan Temple in your life.
JIN DING XUAN (金鼎轩酒楼) is just across the road and serves up Beijing's best dim sum !
Atmosphere is overwhelming ... Although it's flooded with people, they still respect the ascetic lifestyle
