First time back in more than 16 years. Sat in the same little cubby hole seat when my wife and I were dating back then. Chowder and mussels . The chowder 's creamy broth was actually quite good.

Service, ambience, and food were all top-notch. 3 of us shared the excellent nachos , and then I moved on to the meal-sized chowder . Delicious!

A Halifax, NS staple - the "Shoe Shop" is the best indoor space in the downtown bar scene. Great Nachos , Great drinks, and always bound to run into someone you know.

Don't walk by the kitchen and look in, because you will lose your appetite , also, when visiting in the day light hours, it is a very dusty, dirty spot, just look up at the plants and shelves etc..

The food was awesome and the atmosphere is great, but it wouldn't hurt the servers to be more attentive to customers. Getting drinks shouldn't take 20 minutes.

If you like wasting your money on over priced, lowest of the low quality pub food , this is the place for you. On the brighter side it's one of the best patios in town , to enjoy an over priced beer .

Loud , dingy, sticky. Here only cuz 1st choice was closed / hadn't eaten 8hrs. Perhaps needed to numb taste buds w/ alcohol so as not to recoil at every dish. This fits, exceeds stereotype.

Nachos good but not epic. No draft beer available, but the wine was good. I enjoyed the chicken wrap .
