Very good gyoza . Small one bite sized but worth the wait. This isn't better than Tenryu in Tokyo though. Those are the best I've ever had in life, these are a close second.

Cindy Ng

All the gyoza were pretty good. My top favorites are garlic && kimchee sauce and chicken && mozzarella gyoza . The gyoza are soft and the skin are thin so it melts in your mouth with balanced flavors.

Carol

Get there early, the place is small and the lines are pretty long. Lively , fun place, w/ helpful staff that speak a bit of English. Great cocktails (try the shoju w/mango and calpis ). Guiozas r great.

Thijs van Schadewijk

Wonderful place. We tried 13 types of Gyoza and loved them all. Highlights the steamed ginger gyoza and the garlic gyoza with kimchi . Oh and also the one with Basil . Super super nice.

Bozhidar Ivanov

Literallly the best gyoza I have ever had. Make sure you try the signature chao chao gyoza and the chicken and mozarella one. Overall you can't make a wrong choice. It's all great!

Andrew Choi

Popular with the crowds but worth it! Get their 16-piece house gyoza . Other noteworthy ones were the red pepper , shrimp , & garlic . Also the ???? gyoza for dessert ????

Nadia

Went there, sat at the counter and asked the cook to pick his favourites for me! Ended up eating 3 full plates and they were all delicious, especially the chicken and cheese ! Very budget friendly too.

Bogna Gawrońska

The place can be pretty busy, so it's better for couples then groups but if you manage to get a seat, you'll be able to enjoy large variety of delicious gyoza . Give chocolate ones a try!

Johannes

Great for a small lunch/dinner. But be aware that pretty much all the Gyoza that aren't marked as vegetarian or are fish contain pork in the filling. Ie the ginger ones are pork with ginger :)

Pete Schirmer

This location is GREAT, but their other location 10min walk south has vegan gyoza ! The “veggie” one has pork ! Vegans beware. Also 2nd location has less wait.

Andy

lives up to the hype, definitely the best gyoza in kyoto. everything on the menu is great, but highly recommend the one with egg yolk and cheese on top

Povilas

Had to wait about 30min on a Friday evening - but it was so worth it! Great food and atmosphere. There are vegetarian options as well

Úlfur Steingrímsson

Really good restaurant . They offer vegetarian , meat and seafood options all tastikg very well . Be ready to queue as this place is a busy one, but its definately worth the wait!

Brandon Lee

The atmosphere was the #1 feature I enjoyed. Gyozas are pretty cheap and delicious. Worth the stop if you're in the area.

Mela Mel

Staff very cute , everyone smiles, they all cheer 'kampai' with you and shout happily see you soon when you leave! Gyozas delicious, avoid the Chao Chao ones: too small. Loved the steamed ones. Had 15!

Lore

Incredibile gyoza , best ever tried. Staff was very friendly , prices are fair . Be ready to wait for a long time in the queue.

Yameng

Chicken wings are great, suggest ordering the no1 gyoza twice cause it's that good. Curry gyoza was surprisingly good

Adam P

Fantastic place for gyoza . Apparently gets stupidly crowded in peak times. Don't go in peak times. I arrived at 11pm and there were no other tourists there. Just locals.

Mishka Kováčová

Long wait , but worth it! They have 3 vegetarian gyozas to choose from. Lovely staff and great authentic atmosphere. Good prices too, must try in Kyoto! ????

Z-monitor

Tasty gyozas . 480¥ for 6 pieces is not cheap , but it worths the try. The staff are very friendly and English is spoken. Must try!

Tan

What a great night! The gyozas are very good, the price too! Loved the ginger gyozas ! And the staff are so happy and friendly !!

Amrit Mirpuri

We tried the vegan and the traditional, all were amazing. The wings too were phenomenal

Lucy Perry

This place is gyoza heaven - we had a whole load but o recommend chicken mozzarella and the tiny pork ones!

Shachar Gi

Oh God this was amazing!! The best Gyoza in the world. And the service is also so friendly (and English speaking)

Mathias Becker

Wow - this place is awesome! It's feels like a bar . The staff is super friendly and very helpful. The gyoza are amazing!

Lopiteaux

Incredible gyoza and amazingly friendly staff . Go for the pork and shrimp gyozas and a round of namas. Kanpai!!!

rickricardu Ricardo Jr.

The best here is the funny! Best team! Hottest dumplings ever! A must go!

Brendon

Sooooooo many options. Try a little of everything. House, curry , mushroom , cheese and pesto , all amazing.

Sonia S

The fact that it's filled with only foreigners now is a turnoff. Food and service are fine, just lacking that "local authenticity " with the rise in tourist popularity.

Troels Emil Høeg Højlund-Rasmussen

Their fried chicken and chocolate gyoza with ice cream is amazone!

Nadim

The gyozas were awesome. But, we waited one hour to get in, all clients were tourists & the server "made a mistake" in our bill. Pay attention to you bill and don't take the recommended set.

Masha

Tried prawn gyoza , it was great. Order two portions preferably :)

Lee McIntosh

Awesome gyoza .. Recommend taking the set menu , it changes often and every bit is delicious!

James T

Friendly , multi-lingual staff . There were French, English, Korean, Japanese, and Mandarin-speaking staff members, when I was there.

Liese R

All the dumplings ! Shrimp and pork gyoza were particularly good. The lemon sours were excellent

Frain Frain

Everything is really yummy! English speaking staff , menu! Free tea ! Totally recomend it!

Li Neng Lee

The gyozas are great! Try their specialty chao chao gyozas . The recommended set is great. :)

Marianne N

Loud and friendly service . Cheap happy hour beers . You can order beer while you wait outside. Not the best gyoza I've had, but the ginger gyoza and the prawn gyoza were not bad.

Vincent

Food is great, try the egg yolk and cheese gyoza . However the staff is not organised and efficient: we waited hours outside under the rain when the restaurant was virtually empty.

Jennifer Yip

Get a beer and eat some gyoza . They are perfectly crispy !

Philip M

Very good and diverse Gyoza . Only negative thing: only tourists in the restaurant .

Constance | @croostifoodi

The shrimp gyozas and the chicken and mozzarella gyozas were the best

Rui Baltazar

Quantity vs price is decent. Gyoza quality was ok. It felt more like a place that used to be good and now is living of the fame. They clearly had seats inside but left people queuing up outside.

Rachel Roth

2 vegetarian gyoza options (plus the chocolate ones)

Stephanie Chen

Really long wait (including service) at 6pm on a Friday night, mostly foreigners. 2 options for veg dumplings .

Juan Arreguin

Pork and Chicken Gyoza : amazing!!

Fabio Resende

Stuff your mouth with as many Chao Chao dumplings as you can. Wash it down with some ginger sour. Repeat.

Martha Jackowiak

Everything! Try chao chao gyoza !

Stephan Müller

Never had Goyza that good. Staff is super friendly too! Go for it.

Ásgeir Kristinsson

They have a menu in english, highly recommend the egg and cheese gyoza !
