Located quite far from city centre. But result is definitely worth the effort. Great museum for any age. Lots of display units, spacious galleries , interesting notes about each item. Free entrance.
Great! So many different aircrafts to see and find out history about them. Not as busy as you may think so you've got as much time as you want checking out evwry part of the museum .
First World War exhibit is excellent, main collection is also good - lots of planes to see and a few hands on exhibits that are good for kids .
Entrance free of charge, good for a weekend visit with children - there is plenty of space between buildings so they can play around. Lots of interactove stuff available to learn about RAF's history.
Excellent exhibits and collections of classic aircraft. Really fascinating place to visit and absorb some history being near to some truly iconic aircraft. £4 to park but free entry.
You can sit in a few of the fighters. Much different than my Cessna. Great explanations on things. Take the northern line to get here. Colindale stop.
Fantastic, very unique exhibits . You can easily spend a day here.
Fantastic museum free entry small car park charge or find a space outside and walk in. Lovely restaurant and great shop allow several hours!
15 September: Battle of Britain Day. This is one of the best museums of flight in the world, with displays of the 90-year history of the RAF and showcasing over 130 different aircraft .
A bit of a hike from central london but well worth it if you’re a fighter aircraft buff like me.
It was amazing, especially if your a plane fan! So many facts and intresting things to learn and do. I deeply recommend it
Great day out with the family here. Was fun! Great displays , good food helpful staff . 5/5
Priceless exhibits are not shown to best advantage. Poorly lit and cramped although new hangars should help this in future. The place was a building site on the RAF’s 100th anniversary in April 2018.
Not too crammed, but plenty of aircraft to see. Free & only a 10 minute walk from the nearest underground station. The food in the restaurant was not good, too pretentious for such an establishment.
Attractions at the Royal Air Force Museum include 80 aircraft on display , an interactive area, a simulator ride and 'Our Finest Hour', a multi-media account of the Battle of Britain . Read more
Awesome display of planes throughout history. The WWII collection is not to be missed
A surprising ammount of massive planes and helicopters throughout history. Just take a car, it's fairly unreachable otherwise
greate place for planes and history lovers! it is a very nice museum , full of nice and interactive informations :)
The short Sunderland is worth the trip alone. A free museum with an amazing array of planes .
Great palace to visit with camera , bomber hall is a bit dark (tripods allowed if you ask first at desk for permit).
There are story times three times in a day. If you can make one of them I bet your kid will love it.
Pay and display car park is £2.50 for 3 hours, or £3.50 for 6 hours. No pay by phone. A small price to pay as the museum is free. Restaurant is good and takes card payments.
Lovely cafe but quite expensive ! Also try out the simulators and the 4D cinema
You can find the latest selection of our DVDs in the shop.
A great collection with some rare restorations.
Good static display of Battle of Britain aircraft. Some good audio visual presentations.
Takes you way back, really worth the visit and free, Sunday not busy at all.
Great museum , brings history to life and fantastic for young kids.
Beautiful place if you love history and planes , worth your time for sure.
The museum was opened in 1972 in a building formed from two aircraft hangars dating to World War I at the Hendon Aerodrome in northwestern London.
There is a really interesting playground for both under5s and older kids.
Great history and displays
Well worth the trip if you like your planes . Some rare German WWII survivors in the Battle of Britain Hall.
Awesome place, for Free!! Make sure you see Our Finest Hour in The BOB Memorial hanger
Park on the street outside the museum rather than in the car park and save yourself £5
Arrive early on Sunday and you'll have the place to yourself.
There's plenty to see here, from hang gliders to Spitfires, you could have a go in the simulator too.
Fascinating and well planned museum
Even though you don't fancy aircrafts, it is really worth seeing it..
A great place to visit no matter the weather, as there a lot to see and do. And do not forget to take a camera with you
Very interesting exhibits ...where has this place been hiding
Excelent museum . And it's free :)
Being able to walk through the Sunderland flying boat is amazing.
Amazing collection of warefare
Nice place to visit! It's free :) and there is a lot to discover!
Segway Rallying awesome fun. Recommended for a Saturday morning with your mates.
Bomber exhibition at the large hangar is the best one
Great place with all fantastic machines including Spitfire, Hurricane, B-17, Lancaster, Vulcan...and many more.
The lighting throughout the museum is depressing, and the children's area needs updating!
Very nice and free
