Lions Head Peak is a mountain Cape Town located in South Africa.
Signal Hill Rd (Kloof Nek Rd) Cape Town 8001 South Africa
Hey tourist ! I 1000% recommend hiking Lion's Head! The view is amazing & it'll only take you 2-3 hrs (vs. all day for Table Mtn). Don't fear the "harder path". ps: Bonus pts if it's your honeymoon!
One of the best hikes or walks in the world, and I've been around some! For crowd avoidance and amazing peace park at the shrine and walk from there. Unmissable!
The views are amazing. Pack lots of water for a hot day, and the hike is a little more strenuous than you think. Coming down takes energy too!
Whatever you do make sure you have reached the peak by sunset . Then it gets TOO dark and dangerous to hike down! It takes approx 90mins to reach the peak from the side coffee shop
Go up an hour before sunset and take some snacks and a bottle of Backsberg tread lightly. See the sun set over the ocean and turn 180 and see the lights go on in town . Priceless. Take a small torch.
Be weary of going up Lions Head for the full moon if you like to hike quickly. There are often a lot more people hiking than you would expect. This does make it quite festive though.
Congrats! You made it to the top! Now, treat yourself to Unframed Ice Cream - voted #1 in the world! ???????? #earnedit
Foggy day when we hit the summit but that doesn't make it any less magical. A must-do if you're even remotely adventurous.
Climb for the sunset ! Most beautiful view . Make sure you have friends and flashlights for the dark climb down:)
Certainly one of the best hikes in Cape Town . Do take some water and a light with after sunset. The view is spectacular!
Absolutely stunning views !
Must do if you are visiting Cape Town. Fairly easy hike (1-1.5 hours) and amazing views from the top.
On the way up, if taking the “easier” route be sure to note where you rejoin, otherwise on the way down it’s hard to spot!
beware the wind. an awesome short hike in cape town . with little traffic and moderate fitness you should reach the top in 45 mins.
Amazing views ; great photo opportunities ; perfect weekend activity.
Stunning views , worth the climb . You need to be able the pull yourself nearer the top.
Worth the hike , incredible view ♥️
Takes about 2 hours up and down plus a 20min break at the top.
Great place to see all of Cape Town. Good walk to the top but not difficult. Use the chains on way up rather than way down
More difficult to climb then Table Mountain .
Don't forget to high five yourself when you've reached the top.
I've been there and hiked around it. It's beautiful!
Pack more water than you think you’ll need!
If you have the energy it is well worth the hike to the top. Good self challenge.
Tough as it was my first time but took up the challenge and got to the top.
Great start of a day. Pack fruit and juice for a snack on top.
Hiking . Challenge. Worthwhile
Amazing views but if you have a fear of heights this may not be for you!
I was there in November 2014. One of the best trips of my life.
Pause on the way down to capture a panorama of Table Mountain and the Cape Town city
What a nice mountain ... amazing place
Very busy in summer. But the view from the top is worth the crowds!
