The museum is under (re)construction at the moment with the new wing to open 2019. However don’t let that put you off visiting there’s still plenty on display.
Part of the Museum is under renovation, it can be very crowded . Entrance is 50 ¥ only and don't forget to stamp the post card you get with the ticket
Another must-do in Hiroshima. 200¥ entrance is a steal given the powerful exhibits . We spent a good hour and a half here slowly walking through.
The museum is sobering and educational . Block half an hour to watch testimonials of survivors at the end. It's the most powerful part. start with #6.

Many Pictures the survivors drew.They kept vivid impression.And you had better hear the suvivors testimony or legacy successor talk if you have a time.
Make sure to leave time after visiting to curl up into a ball and cry. This place will move even the stone-hearted.

広島原爆 の惨状を後世に伝えるために広島平和会館原爆記念陳列館として開館した。本館は重要文化財 で、観覧は東館から入場 し本館から退出するというコース が取られている。特によく知られているのは被爆者等身大ジオラマ、三位一体の遺品や黒焦げの弁当 多数となる遺品、人影の石など。退出前に専用のノートに閲覧の感想を書き記すコーナーもあり、その中には多くの著名人・要人も含まれている。
【国 指定重要文化財 】…指定は西側にある「本館」です。観覧は「東館」から入場 しますが、東館は原爆投下までの広島市 の歴史や原爆投下の歴史的背景に関する展示 が行われています。そのあと空中回廊で繋がれた「本館」に渡り、広島原爆 の人的・物的被害に関する展示 を見るのとができます。

Visit the memorial hall for atomic bomb victims. It's not as big/popular as the main atomic bomb memorial but it has such a simple and beautiful design/exhibit concept. Truly beautiful! - Keri Stenerson

Restored in the 1950's, the castle provides a great viewpoint of the entire city. Exhibits line the stairs to the top and most all signs also in English. 370¥ entry. - Simple Discoveries
