Awesome site to see! No matter how hot is it, bring a hoodie or jacket . The caves are cold! I wore shorts and a tank due to the 93 deg. weather. My body went numb and had nasal drip in the cold cave !
This was probably the most amazing place ever!! Tour guides were awesome and it was incredible for the adventurous heart. DO NOT GO IF CLAUSTROPHOBIC!!!! Very tight spaces!
Great tours ! Choose Historic or Niagara if you're new. Bring a jacket (it can be cold) & wear comfy shoes . Rangers know their shit.
This is the biggest cave in the world I really enjoy. They also show u for a split second how it looked without the lights in caves and without the guides light. It really was a thrilling moment.
An absolute must do: impressive underground caves and Info Center & Park Rangers are top noch! Tx Ranger Joe Brown for your passionate guidance. Don't forget your sweater bcs it is rather chilly.
I did three cave tours and they were all different. Try to get on multiple tours to see different aspects of the cave . Also, spend time in the beautiful park above ground if you haven't before.
Def worth a visit & a sight to see!! Go inside cave and see frozen niagara. Warning: it can get very dark & chilly inside, small spaces to squeeze thru, and many stairs. Can get claustrophobic.
Wild cave tour is intense but awesome. Need to be relatively fit but no one in our group of 20 and 30-somethings had a problem. Definitely leave the camera and cell phone behind.
Taking both the Domes and Dripstones and the Historic Entrance tours is a good full day, and a great way to see various parts of the cave .
The cave tour is awesome. The 2 hour guided tour gives you so much information about the area and the cave itself. Register at the visitor center!
While the coolness of the cave can be a nice respite on a warm summer day, it also gives you a chance to warm up on a cold winter day (and the crowds are smaller then, too)!
Awesome experience. Something for everyone.
We took the new entrance tour an was great. Not very challenging but interesting. The cave is in central time when scheduling the tour in advance, rescheduling will cost you extra 3 dollars.
Took the New Entrance Tour this past Tuesday. Our Ranger guides were Terry and Mike. What an awesome place to be, a unique experience that left me hungry for more.
Book a tour before your arrival to make sure you get a spot!
Hikes for every age and physical ability. Tour the caves during hot summer days. Hike outdoor trails on cooler ones. Something for everyone.
Enjoyed the Grand Avenue tour , it was a little cool though so bring a jacket . Also the food price has gone up to $8.50 but it is still a good deal for the food
What a fantastic, family friendly , adventure!
Really enjoyed the lantern tour . No photo opps but you get to see parts of the cave none of the other tours go.
The historic tour was great. Also went on new entrance tour . You get a discount for booking two tours together.
Ask for ranger Jared on your tour for a little xtra connection to history - stay to the front of your group or you won't be able to hear on the history tour
Make sure to wear hiking shoes and not sneakers as they are not allowed on many of the tours .
Imagine walking into the Mines of Moria with the Fellowship of the Ring. It’s like that.
The 4 hour tour is great and the camping grounds are good too!
Awesome so many options hard to believe you can only do 10 of the 412 miles of caves
If you use the trails , be careful for the horse poop and ruts created by their hooves. There are more horseback riders than hikers! Beautiful scenery !
Made our South's Best List! Topside the park offers more than 70 miles of trails for hikers, bikers and horse-back riders. Read more
The New Entrance tour is far better than the Historic tour - if you have a digital SLR camera then definitely bring it in the New Entrance tour .
Nice gigantic caves . Worth the time
Excellent cave tours ! Bring hiking boots and prepare for it to be really dark.
If you have been to Carlsbad , you might be disappointed. But amazing experience nonetheless.
Glad I was up front, tour guide was fun, watch your head...lol
Try the Taste of Kentucky jam in the gift shop . It's amazing!
I can't wait to visit again! !! I recommend making a reservation
The Historic and New Entrance tours are the best.
If you're going on the wild cave tour , choose knee pads that fit you well and opt to bring gloves, they'll be useful!
The historic tour was amazing!!!! Words can't describe.
The nature and the cave are good. But I expected to see more though.
Cool place with lots to see.
Recommend the Historic Tour for the large caves and best sights. Camping at Headquarters is great but $$$
A fun experience. Very pleasant staff .
The fried chicken at the Hotel restaurant is amazing, worth waiting the 30 minutes, if you have to.
At less than two hours from downtown Louisville, a trip to Mammoth Cave is a great excuse to get out of the city for a day. Read more
The Lantern Tour is packed with history. Alan is the best guide.
The Wild Cave Tour is great! Today was my second and I'm already thinking about my third. Check it out!
Make sure you get reservations ! Lots of disappointed families get an unpleasant surprise.
First time in a cave and it was pretty fantastic
So many cave tours to explore ???? #KYgetaway
The Wild Tour is awesome. Really strenuous and ridiculous.
Go for at least a two hour tour
Impressive visitor center. It’s one of the bigger ones I’ve seen at a National Park. - Allen Vogliano
Even if you aren't on a tour that uses this entrance, it's worth walking down from the visitor center to see this iconic view. - Andrew Raker
The bathrooms are well kept and very clean. Air conditioned and wifi too! The sites have space between them and are wooded. The only downside is the showers are at the camp store, and are not as clean - Jorge A
Awesome for little kids or lovers of dinosaurs. I would not complain about the price on entry. My 3 year old (& a few older kids) had an awesome time and want to go again - Jennifer Talicska
The museum is great, but I keep going back for the amazing food and cocktails at the Stringray Grill. - Spencer Keck
