Have a GPS app handy on your phone. The park trails map give precise GPS coordinates for several of the footprints. It can be a pain to work the GPS while hiking or with spotty cell signal.
Dinosaur tracks were pretty cool. Especially at the end of the River Expedition. Beautiful park . Nice Park Rangers. Great turnout
Track spot #4 is by far the best stop. From behind campsite #1 follow the trails to the right down a steep path to the river . Follow the path along the river for about 1/4 mile till you see the tracks
We had such a great time with the River Expedition!! The Rangers were great. The water kept us cool.
Really nice staff . Only had a little time to kill before a flight so did a quick drive. Lots of trails and camps nice and clean . Worth a stop and next time I will spend more time.
Fun place to visit and not too long of a drive from the DFW area! The dinosaur tracks are worth seeing!
It is very hot here in July went there with my family for my birthday and the water was low, but overall it was a fantastic trip, bring lots of sun gear and water!!
Looked cheesy at first ... Well worth it . Had a good time . Adult friendly for sure
An amazing and beautiful park . See the tracks at spot 2 and do some hiking !
If you go during spring break go art . They open at 9am. The walking tour took about 30 minutes with 2 three year olds and a six year old. Really a place for smaller children. The staff is nice.
Go during the summer so you can enjoy the water & the trails are awesome
Plan about an hour to walk the trail . Pack a lunch and make an afternoon out of it!
Dino tracks !!! What else can I say? Totally cool!
Pretty fun. Kept the kiddos entertained. A little too pricey for looking at statues if you ask me
Dinosaur tracks ! And a great place for a hike .
Tracks are worth the hike . Great camping spot!
What happened to state parks being for free? I had to pay $10 (for two) for the first time ever to just enter the park . It wasn't even worth that if you're just looking!
Take advantage of the fire pits and make s'mores !
Don't bother going to the museum . You can see everything in there for sale the gift shop .
Dogs on leash are welcome to visit too!
There are no public bathrooms in the gift shop , but there are restrooms at the entrance.
If you don't mind the walk (1.4 miles), remote site #4 is a great place!
It's so worth crossing the rope
Bring your camera !
Check out the nearby Creationism Evidence museum .
The fossil dig here is awesome!
Beautiful lake! Was dry for a few years so I am beyond happy to ace it back. Hopeful the BRA doesn't let it all out so we can all continue to enjoy this cute city, great downtown and amazing lake. - katy ramsey
For a road trip guilty pleasure, I prefer the blizzard over all other options. Heath, Oreo, or snickers are all top notch. Don't be fooled by cheap imitators. - David Pitts
Saw the sign driving through. Glad we stopped. It's great. My kids loved it! Play area, trail, and fossil digging. - Jaime
What a wonderful place to go with the family. Do not miss the giraffes, especially if you have a sunroof. Very cute hillside restaurant for lunch. - Veronique Poncet
