Formerly the Weld Quay under the tree restaurant , this new home is brighter, cleaner more spacious and airy but still cheap and fast! (For KLites this is the Paris of Penang.) 7/10

The new place is much more spacious and cleaner. Fast and efficient service , reasonably priced. Salad prawn , soft shell crab with salted egg yolk , pork knuckle recommended.

Food is good, waiting time is super short . Get your table number at the entrance, go to the side to order your food, get inside to find your table. Sit down and within 5 minutes your dishes are on.

Fast and delicious freshly cooked Chinese dishes with reasonable prices. Spacious seating areas and reasonably clean dining area. A good selection of fresh seafood is available daily.

Soft shell crab with salted egg , clams in bean sauce, slipper crayfish , steamed fish . Very reasonable price!

My last review was 7 years ago. Here’s an update. Taste wise still pretty good. Price wise however has gone up pretty significantly. It’s no longer your cheap Chu Char place.

Try to avoid visiting on Saturday & Sunday dinner time... a bit crowd and services level will drop. Food not bad, price consider affordable if not order too much seafood .

Fast, tasty and reasonably priced seafood . Must try Ewe Char Koay salad .

Wondering why there is always so crowded here whereby the foods are really nothing special. However, seafood yew char kuey is nice to try..

Crab is expensive . Other than that the food is good and fast serving too.

If you love your seafood , give this a miss. Absolutely.

Lousy service. Ordered a pork knuckle un chewable. Ordered squid also un chewable! Not advisable to add on dish! No more next time! Bad experience!

Open daily from Lunch-time until Dinner-time. Closed on Wednesdays.
