You don’t need to pay to get a good appreciation of the castle ; there is a nice, 20 minute walk that takes you around it. Start at the gate just before the entrance, when you get to the road keep left

Kids dressing up as knights , feature tents in the grounds and lots if things to look at in the village . Best on a nice hot day like we had today!

Although I like going sightseeing and historic places, it's not really worth visiting castle ruins . If you consider pricey tickets, the best thing you can do is to take some pictures from distance.

A spectacular castle with enjoyable walks in the fields surrounding. Stop off at the nearby pubs and take in the history.

The informative boards are interesting, sometimes a bit repetitive though.

Arrive as early as possible to enjoy the castle at its best.
