Remote setting on a desolate moor. Made famous by Daphne du Maurier's novel of the same name. Has a small smuggling museum . Great real ales .
A quirky pub and also a museum to visit for a good price. If it's nice weather lots of out door seating. Food is very nice but you have to get up and order it and order drinks from the bar .
It’s a bit pricey , but the food is good. Try the curry if you like spicy . Well-stocked farm shop . The gift shop is worth a scrounge if you like touristy paraphernalia.
Gift shop used to be stocked with nice biscuits and sweets etc now just mars bars etc. But hey they getting WiFi and sky sports , in keeping with the inn (rolls eyes)
Amazing place, fantastic food and atmosphere. Museum is a must if you visit. £4 each for adults, so informative
A must visit for the sheer history of the place
Food is very nice. Good prices. Little shop is good and the museum is a must £4 pp is brilliant!
Stayed here over night on the way back from St Ives. Lovely pub . Friendly staff . Got put in one of the haunted rooms.....
The chicken bacon ranch chips , with your french fries in the states was very tasty
I have to say I was a bit disappointed by the place itself. I recommend reading the book first. That adds a bit of magic to it!
the steak was awesome, and service perfect will definately be coming back
Not only are dogs now allowed, they have water bowls outside & a free dog biscuit on entry!
Definitely visit the museum first. It will make eating in the Smuggler 's Bar more atmospheric.
It has all been done in such a tasteless way, it's actually upsetting... Best stick to the book .
Make sure you visit the Smuggler 's Museum . Fabulous!
So so food, crap desert selection.
Complete and utter waste of time. I can't believe we went out of our way to come here.
Beautiful pub with a nice outdoor beer garden to enjoy during the summer time with pretty views and scenery ???????? - Tim Maccheroni
Only place around here for evening meals, book in advance! - Sarah Gee
