Why don't you have a library card ? Did you know, that in addition to books , you may also checkout movies , music and art ? They even have a wide selection to download.
Wow, never seen a library with Graphic Novel , Comics , and Zines sections!
Is there anything better than a sexy geek?! I say "No!" If you agree then, the SLCPL is the best place to go and find one. On any given day, you're going to see some eye candy . Best Days: Sat & Sun
Grab a coffee from first floor and head to to the rooftop to read. If you have the kids with you, enjoy the Childrens library . Great people watching , and yes some are homeless.
Here's my tip: the fourth floor balcony (It's across from the library proper, you go to the fourth floor and cross a sky bridge , but it's inside the building) is a great place to read. It's very quiet
Great architectural moment and perfect if distant people-chatter is conducive to your studying. That said—it's a little homeless-heavy.
Awesome library . Hobos have seriously infested this place though. Bathrooms , computers, and I think one lives in the phone booth .
Check out the library store for some top notch stationary like Leuchterm 1917 note books , fridge magnets, and games.
The view from the roof of the library was awesome. I didn't look at the books , but there is A LOT, at least for someone like me. Homeless were inside using PC and reading, but they can use it too.
The new "lucky 7" feature is frickin fantastic! You can check out the latest best sellers for a week. No more waiting months for a hold!
Gorgeous architecture and well-planned mixed use reminiscent of the Milan Galleria and Piazza Il Duomo where people go to be seen and people watch . Surrounded by green open space . Read more
I know, a library right? Well this one is AMAZING and deserves a visit. Perhaps the "sexiest" building in SLC or anywhere for that matter. Big bonus: Buy a coffee and something to nosh on from Salt La Read more
Really cool reading area for kids on the bottom floor.
Very modern and simple to use
Super cool library . However, it has literally the creepiest, most disgusting bathrooms I've ever encountered in my life. I've been to a rest stop in Wyoming with cleaner bathrooms .
Architecture rocks. Upper floors are rad. Grab a coffee and enjoy at least an hour here.
Great place with great resources. Giant chess game is fun
The views from the rooftop are the best in the city . Bring a camera .
One of the best libraries in the states . Interesting architecture , plenty of great spots to read, work, and converse.
Take the elevator to the 5th floor and enjoy the spectacular view from the rooftop garden
Neat architecture but the catering for events is a bit subpar.

I love this place. The librarians are so friendly and helpful.
Dollar books - carts and carts of them.
You dont need to have a library card if all you want to do is forget your meds and shout at random passersby while reeking of urine and BO.
Childrens library is amazing! Little furniture and a fun little reading nook .
Don't miss the rooftop garden - great views of the mountains , the City and County Building, and a geocache!
Nice place. If you don't mind B.O. And cigarette smoke
Another fabulous design by Moshe Safdie who also designed the Jepson Center in Savannah
The art downstairs with poetry is beautiful
There's a garden on the top. Check it out.
Definitely one of my favorite buildings in the city . A must-see!
Always a great time here

Salt Lake Roasting Company Coffee on 1st floor by magazines....YUM!
Rarest of books
Stay off of the 2nd level. That is the young adult section and it is a little weird.
The more you read, the tastier your brain becomes.
My favorite place to study!
Architectural design by renown Moshe Safdie
Also known as Salt Lake City Gathering of the Juggalos
Party on the roof
Look out for the Juggalos that are always hanging out front being getto.
What an awesome place. We just got our library card here and will be back soon. Today is the opening of this library. Brand-new, beautiful designed, I am curious, how it will be on workdays. - Cornelia Mikolash
I love the library! Did you know you can build your own reserve queue on line and they'll transfer to your favorite location? - Levi Elder
This is a great library, just remember you might get yelled at if you sneeze - Ryan
