Established in 1949,overview of India’s last 5000 years,one of the largest museums in India.Over 2,00,000 works of art , centrally located, takes few hours to explore the museum ,closed on Mondays.

It is one of the largest museums in India with 200,000 works of art , both of Indian & foreign origin, covering over 5,000 years. The corner stone of the present building was laid by Jawaharlal Nehru.

Monday Closed . Cloak room available to keep ur stuff. Audio guide available. 25 bucks for Camera . Opt for it. You will need. Can spend a good 2-3 hours in it. Keep bottle of water. Cafeteria present

Closest to India Gate , National Gallery of Modern Art . For Rashtrapati Bhavan i suggest take an auto. Its not close. A good 25 mins walk from here.

Harappa valley section is the best. You should have at least 2.5-3 hours to spare otherwise you won't be able to enjoy this amazing place to the fullest

Don't get confused with National Archives Museum , which is a block away towards India Gate ! Bring your student ID and you can get in for 1Rs instead of 300 Rs foreigner entrance fee.

The museum has in its possession over 2,00,000 works of exquisite art , both of Indian and Foreign origin covering more than 5,000 years of our cultural heritage.

Strictly for people who are into Indian history ..... rest all please stay away,you can thank me later

Have to check your bag. Expensive for foreigners at 650. Some rooms nice, most are shabby. Decent documentation.

Cool place to take children over weekend

Disappointed. Extremely boring. The audio tour is of no help. Lack of interesting exhibits and no chronology. Chunks of history missing.
