Always start at 50% of the initial asking price for your bargaining. And don't be afraid to walk away as there will likely be another stall with the same stuff. Watch your head!

Great for budget backpackers since most places are all-you-can-eat in one bowl for LAK15,000. I like the lady at the end of the alley on the right. Service with a smile. Grilled fish is delicious.

Long street night market, good for shopping some souvenirs and having dinner at the small food street, wide option of local food at the very friendly price.

Watch your head with the tents! Be smart - don't buy trinkets claiming to be from repurposed bombs. You're supporting a market which maims those looking for ordnance, some still unexploded.

There is only one spot where you can buy books . Buy one of them (or more), rent a bike the next day, take a ride, find a school, and give your books away to one of the school kids for free.

I hate these places but this one I didn't mind. The stuff is nicely aligned, they're not pushy as everywhere else in south-east Asia. Best to check between 9 and 10 when they're all about to close.

The meats and sausages in the food market in the side street! Try the KIP10 or 15,000 buffets too. A lot of the food is cold and perhaps not the best, but you'll find a few gems along the way.

Local food in cheap price. Just 10000 kip per one plate. You can fill your plate as many as you can in one time.

No need to see the whole length. The same shops appear again and again. No need to buy anything, they're all factory made from Vietnam or China.

Barter, barter and throw in some more bartering. General rule of thumb half the initial price they give you and go from there. Tons of beautiful art , jewellery, clothes and unique Lao souvenirs .

You can find some places here that run 15,000 kip for all you can fit into a bowl. Just go to the busier spots as their turnover means you're likely getting fresher product. ;)

Best spicy sausage I have had for years on the food market in a narrow alley on the left quite in the beginning of the market and meatless dinners for 1 euro.

5pm to 10pm. Souvenirs , handicrafts and food Monday to Sunday. Nice for a walk!

Too many stalls selling almost similar things. Haggle half of the price offered and work from there. Don't ask price from vendor u are not planning to buy. Not all stalls get sale every night.

The local markets is where we can find fruity shakes , smoothies and beer Laos. The products are just not very extensive but still cool.

A must night entertainment even you don't want to buy anything souvenir . Very tourist centric, but the shopper are ok to bargain.

Bag of pork , bowl of soup , couple of spring rolls . Perfect meal. Super cheap . Bring wet naps.

At middle of market . You choose ingredients in a bowl, they stirfry it for a 10,000 kip meal. Cheap & cheerful. :)

Almost stuff sell in the market aren't real handcraft and some you could find everywhere in asia
