To buy a ticket to the Crane , you have to go to neighbourly building of Maritime Culture Centre. Generally it's a good place if you want to get some knowledge about historical maritime culture.

A symbol of the maritime history of Gdansk, the oldest port crane in Europe was built in the years 1442-1444 in the form of two brick towers. Free entrance with the Tourist Card.

The Crane - a defensive town gate and a harbor crane in one. You can go inside the wheels which once propelled the crane 's mechanism . Sadly, for safety reasons, it cannot be set in motion any more...

Take your time to look up and see this miracle of the Middle Ages. Its wood has seen so much wind, it could fill all canvases in the world.
