I love rocks (I have a degree in them) & I loved the geology section. The insect/bugs section is great as are the other exhibits . Not that busy compared to other museums so plenty of time to explore
Excellent staff ! My friend and I were taking photos for a school project and the staff were super friendly and understanding. Love all the exhibits as well , so informative and impressive.
Lots of great hands on exhibits for the kids and free general admission on Thursday evenings. Just saw the special exhibit on bio-luminescence which was very educational .
Love to bring my son here!! "The dinosaur museum " all the kids at preschool call it!! We love the giant jelly fish and will be going to see Creatures of Light this week!! Can't wait!
I personally consider this the most interesting museum in Ottawa. It's compact enough but located in an amazing historic building downtown. Great little giftshop too!
The Talisman Energy Fossil Gallery displays dinosaurs from 85 to 35 million years ago. Great to see these humongous animals!
The special exhibits are worth the extra entrance fee. The dinosaur section is the most interesting!
Housed in a 100-year-old heritage building, the world-class museum features dynamic and interactive exhibits that range from dramatic photos to a skeleton of the world’s largest animal. Read more
Lovely museum in the center of town . Four floors of unique learning to be had. IMAX. Really great for a day trip.
Fantastic exhihits that are bite size enough for all in the family. The building itself is incredible.
Check out the two impressive aquariums in the Water Gallery . The big tank has fresh water species like this large mouth bass.
This place is enormous. Great, modern looking exhibits with engaging panels for younger audiences.
Good museum . Each floor (4) is broken into two sections and range from early time (dinosaurs ) to rocks/minerals to water. Nicely done.
Live animal display in the basement ! See the cool creepy critters in Animalium. Get nose to nose with a Banana slug or a walking stick insect.
Sparkling after a massive, seemingly endless renovation, this vast museum pokes its Gothic head up just beyond the skyline, south of downtown.
Amazing exhibits . A must see museum .
The section on evolution (dinosaurs mostly) is simply amazing !! Not only for childrens :)
The dioramas in the Canadian wildlife section look great!
For a unique experience, try Nature Nocturne , a once-monthly event where the museum turns into a nightclub .
Don't forget to look up...way up! There are fantastic carvings and other beautiful architectural details to be discovered. Bring your kids and your camera !
You need to check out the brand new (after it's Grand Re-Opening on May 22) building & exhibits ! See the Water Gallery , The Earth Gallery , and the Research Trek ... and don't miss the Dinosaurs ! Read more
Take a pic to the moon. Many activities for children if you have them
Go down as well as up. Make sure to check out the exhibits in the basement . Always interesting bugs and critters .
Nice place for a wedding. I liked the dinosaur room.
Today at the grand opening is crazy. Make sure you grab a map and plan a whole day or multiple days to plan your tour . Better yet get a map from their web nature.ca
Small and simple museum . I liked the giant jellyfish .
Great place for kids, the discovery zone; Arctic explore, deep sea sub , and what kid doesn't love the Dinos

This is the only museum in the city with self-updating exhibits! Afternoons are quieter, especially in the fall. We like to come in time for feeding time, get a snack w/bees & see milking. - Mary J
Great tours, very kid friendly, their boutique also has great variety. Must try to lift the gold bar in the store. Quite interesting to visit and see how money is made! - Sabrina S.
Underground museum, very interactive and mostly for children but presents nicely the principles behind monetary policy etc it is managed by the Bank of Canada and always free, so a great activity - Sabrina S.
