This is a tourist must try, but don’t stand in the giant queue for take out . Go inside, you can usually get a seat and served quicker. Try the giant crab dumplings with the straw sticking out! ????
Eat upstairs , Because any case you will exceed 80RMB with this delicous taste. (See the bill) crab roe soup + shrimp pork dumpling + spring roll extremely recommended.
If you want to take out dumplings , just stand in line at 1F, but for a seated meal, go to 2F or 3F directly. The higher the floor is, the more quiet with the better view guaranteed .
This place that featured on Anthony Bourdain 's travel show. Long lines if you want a take-away, for seated service, head up to the 3rd floor. Crab Roe dumplings are must try. Cash preferred.

1st floor queue is for takeout , 2nd for dine-in. Go early for no wait. Fried shrimp balls & soup dumplings . Skip the giant XLB with straw.
22yuan for 16 dumplings if you queue for takeout . 30yuan for 6 dumplings if you eat on the third level. only the dumplings are worth trying, don't bother about the rest of the items!
Save yourself sometime and go straight to the 3rd floor!! Their selection of Xiao Long Baos is much more vast up there as well !!
Lines for takeout are always crazy, even on a weekday morning, but well worth it. Sit and eat upstairs and you won't have as much of a wait.
Depends on the floor, customer can have different type of buns . I recommend to go up to 2nd floor for much relaxed eating.
Buy a chip at the counter and find a seat. After that just sit and the dumplings will come to you.
Delicious dumplings ! Definitely worth going VIP but make sure your hungry!!!
The 汤包 too hot?! Try suck directly without using the straw.. Then u got to drink the upper part which will be cooler ;-) enjoy!!
Different min spend amt different taste & quality. 20&50, quality is terrible. Better go for 80/150, but the dimsum still so so only. Typical commercial restaurant , recommend just for one try ????
Get the Shrimp Ball with Crab Roe Soup together with the dumplings !!
Xiao long bao like no other! Come during non peak hours around 2:30pm.
2000 rmb minimum tab for a private room. try the shark fin + foie gras dumpling .
They have multiple floors and a take out station , hit the 2nd floor if you want pork dumplings only.
You are probably already queuing here and it is pretty good. Next time go local and hit up ling long fang or fuchun!
it is not worth to get upstairs (2nd / 3rd floor) for much more expensive xiaolongbao (dumplings ) at all!ground floor (take away only): RMB15 for 12 piecesvs.upstairs (dine-in): RMB35 for 6 pieces
Incredible Xiao Long Bao . I'm talking amazing. Sit on the 3rd floor.
Got the chance to taste a bit of heaven. Don't burn yourself though (i burned my throat)
Midweek no long line and good food. to go only crab + pork dumplings
Pork and crab steamed dumplings and soup dumpling .
The best steam buns & dumplings in the world!
I went to in May 2008. So many people made a line for this restaurant . Be careful ! So I recommend to arrive earlier. See the link for the photo. Read more
Long queue for take out . Eat upstair for more comfortable experience. except there is a minimum charge of RMB 80 per head when eating in.
Steamed dumplings and the black sesame buns .
More variety and higher price tags can be found on the upper levels. Be sure to hone your chopstick skillz, you don't want to lose any soup in the dumplings .
The same shop sells different version/standards of dumplings , the better tasting but much more expensive ones are upstairs.
For 1 to 2 persons, better to go or the premium location with RMB60 min spend. One serve of dumplings alone is around that. Line is much shorter.
Felt overrated. Same quality of Xiao Long Bao can get anywhere in Shanghai
Warning! Theres a charge of 80 yuan for sitting down on the third floor of the restaurant which they do not make you aware of until you make your order!
Didn’t wanna believe the review so I queued for 20 mins anyway. Bad decision. Average dumplings . Dine in RMB35 for 6 take out RMB 20 for 12 - that’s totally ridiculous pricing. DO NOT waste your time
You must wait in queue for 40 fuckin' minutes
A lot pricier now, 8 xlb for 25 yuan
long ass line outside always. so pony up and go upstairs to avoid queuing. bad service but the xiaolongbao is pretty damn delicious.
Xiao long pao
Just spend 150 yuan/pp and eat on the third floor. The line is way tooo long to wait on.
Currently (August 2018) under renovation so a temporary shop is set up around the corner at Bailing Road .
Decent soup dumplings . But thumbs down for serving it in the plastic steamer.
Head upstairs to avoid the line
Third floor menu is about 3x more expensive than second floor, but about 1/20th the wait for a table
Spend 1 hr for queue up.
Go upstairs to skip the line
Well I guess it just a tourist spot. The dumplings just so so. Had better one at other place. Opposite steamed soup dumpling is much better.
小笼包 is really terrible now. NO soup , no crab taste and the skin is so think... Don't need to come here anymore...
Long lines . The dumpling skins are too thick. And it's expensive . Aside from that it's a fun place.
Xiao long bao !
Great pan fried dumplings, only 5 RMB for 4. Lots of seating upstairs - The Thirsty Pig
If you see the little orange dumpling skin crab ???? in the middle of the dumpling tray, you know you got the best dish in the place! It’s better to get two trays of them, you won’t regret it. - Dave Mc
Best xiaolongbao in town! The spicy dry mince meat noodle is aweeeesome ❤️ - Yvette Liu
