You can pay 5%-30% of the offered price and the sellers will still make money. Haggling is a sport ! It even happens in the food court upstairs!

Christopher Mulligan

This place lost much of its charm. If you want to win the lowest prices, just tell them you'll buy it on Taobao and they will cave . Fun place to bring first time tourists .

Alexander Winter

Learn the art of the bargain. Only the skillful will walk away with a good deal . Be prepared for "you're joking" and "you break'eh my heart!" Fun experience!

Scooter Thompson

Best place to buy DVDs of current movies and tv series. Buy 10 and get 1 free. 10 Kwai per disc. Don't try to bargain here you are already getting a huge deal.

HA Wahab

great...be aware outside the market there are loads of pushers & addicts that are trying to sold you counterfit products or literally "rob" you...anyway this is great market & close to yonganli subway

Ailie Chang

It's like finding a diamond in the rough here. There's this artist who can carve a photo you love into marble using tiny dots. If you're looking for a good deal on custom suits, go to John Tailor .

Toné M

Large shopping mall with lots of similar items. IMO I think the Pearl Market has better selection of silk and cashmere scarves. Be prepared to negotiate. And stand hard on your price.

Quinton Jones

Some great bargains to be had here. Store assistants are very pushy will try and intimidate you with raised voices and anger. Just ignore. The lower your starting price the lower you will end.

Ladybug ????????????????

You will love here.Do not let anyone to screw u! U can buy ties like 20 yuen. Always Negotiate and bargain and try to leave the shop so you can have your price..do not use public restrooms .

Sarah Lim

Must bargain every time. Walk to the next shop if you think the price is too high. Eg: We bargained a wallet from CNY1200 (offered price) to CNY75.You need time to shop here due to bargaining process.

Gaby Andriany Ongso

When u want to buy bags, just come to Gina Susan shop at B1 1085, they have a really great service and of course you still can bargain.

Aprodianne Annes

So incredibly nice place to shop. Eventhough you have to bargain a lot, it's still nice place to visit. Dont forget to bargain here!

Harumi U

Some of the places, you just look and walk away and people still get angry and give you parting words. I think pearls are a value but I will not walk into bag shops and places like that

Sherlyn

Start haggling with at least 20% of the original price. If they don't agree at first, try walking away. They might give a lower price. If they don't, you can try again at the next store.

Andrew BC 翁 ÔNG

One of famous touristy market in Beijing. Don't bargain IF you're not intend to buy otherwise you'll get fuck off by those rude sales personnel. Prices here marked up by 50% above. 08122014 北京 秀水街

Ben

They ve everything you need there but all are fake so don't need to believe them . They always start prices very expensive and try to make you buy. Bargain till the end .

Ian Robinson

Try Yashow in Sanlitin Village if you want better quality than here. In silk market c30% of asking price is 'target' price - walk away otherwise- don't haggle yourself over pennies if you want it....

Andrew Cerda

Whether it's real or fake, anything you want to buy can be found here. They keep the knock-off purses hidden, and will probably offer you a "catalog" to peruse before bringing them out.

Song Li

A lot of fake stuff and a lot of effort in shopping here. I usually take a long sit at the Pacific Coffee on the ground floor.

Shyam Sundar

Bargainers paradise.. dont hesitate to bargain even 200% if you feel fair ,, 100% should be bargained as minimum.

Lisette N

Be prepared to haggle ! The market has been done up in recent years, bathrooms are so much cleaner now and there is an massive food court . market looks more like a mall now, but prices have gone up.

Sha Junaidi

The young girls are nice and friendly ! Easy to bargain with cause it's almost like joking around. I had to distribute RM1's to a few girls as a souvenir frm Malaysia. :) hahah.

Jeff H

Go see David at Tony and Tony’s tomorrow n the 5th floor for some excellent tailor-made dress shirts .

Jyldyz Sattarova

Bargain as bluntly as the shop keepers do. The food court on the top floor seems to need some bargaining too.

Sabina Kajtezovic

Makeup is on the same floor as pearls . You can ask for a specific brand.Don't be afraid to bargain. Don't start barganing at the 1/2 price. Think about what you're willing to pay...

Cecilia Endara

Beware of the taxi drivers in the main entrance. They will try to force you to bargain when they should use the meter. Use the offcial taxi stop on the back side or walk away a few blocks.

Dirk Habets

Have a good breakfast cause they'lll ask you friendly to by something, then they touch you, later they scream at you in mandarine. Start to offer 10% of the first price , otherwise you buy to expansive

Håkan F

This market is upgraded and modernized, best place ever to practice your negotiation skills

Hector Vargas

First rule of the Silk Market : Never take the first price . Second rule of the Silk Market : Never take the first price

Niclas Skold

Not as good as it was a couple of years ago. Bargain hard. You should at least be able to get a final price that is 25% of the first offer. If you are good go even lower.

Luiz Claudio

Bargain! Bargain! Start your negociation reducing the prices 80%. They enjoy a lot this kind of thing

Monica Manu

thanks to the tourists the pices are very high!!!!!! remember idiots it's china! u bargue for everything here!!!!!

Wes Morgan

Extremely aggressive salespeople. Don't be afraid to haggle ; I cut their opening prices by 50% and had good results...

NewYork Medical

Best shopping place for foreigners

Samantha M.I.

Keds 60rmb, Tom's 50 rmb, Nike 5.0 105-115 rmb, Nike AirMax 150 rmb. They usually have better quality stuff compared to Yashow 's.

Manolo Espinosa

Check out the custom bobble head sculptor in the stairway between 1st and 2nd floor. 20 mins at 99rmb.

Alissa Yi

The worst place in Beijing with horrible mean sellers. Don’t go here unless you have something to buy specifically. Negotiate hardcore. Do NOT pay 2000 for a jacket or 1000 yuan for a game or tea set .

Carolina Guerrero

It's ok if you like to buy copies of everything (clothes , jewerly, toys ...). It's all about the bargain.

Air New Zealand

The Silk Market at Yongdali is great and a must-see for all travelers - Lisa

Valentine Kiselyov

Its possible to minimize the starting price for scarfs and other simple stuff for 10 times. For most other goods 3 to 5 times lower from the start.

Agasthi Thenuwara

Lots of restaurants in 5th floor. Good food and good time. Patio pizza .

Blaz Tomc

Don't believe "no bargain" stickers. You can bargain for everything. Set your targets before.

Brian Sharwood

Go visit Angel tailor on 3F for a good deal on suits. They made us a great tablecloth.

Lavinia Dieac

For the ones saying sales people here are aggressive: you haven't been to Middle East, have you!?! Lol

NomadDiplomat

Probably one of the most tiring touristy things to do in Beijing! The shop girls are aggressive & no matter how much you bargain, they usually rip you off. It's still a relatively good bargain thou

Neslihan Cenk

You can decide the price of goods that you want to buy. Ask discount for everything.

PH

Don't expect to see any customer service here. Don't bargain if you don't want to buy. Else they will start cursing. Nevertheless, there are really some cheap stuffs if you don't mind imitation.

Ruby E.

A fridge magnet can go down from RMB25 to as low as RMB5. Try bargaining <RMB5, i bet they will still agree

Tony D

You can get Dre beats and Jordan's for low as $30.00 US dollars

Dinuka Edirisooriya

Keep bargaining till you get the price you want.. if they are failed to give act as you dont want the product and leave the place.. they will give you the product..
