Built on the site of Britain's deadliest avalanche which claimed 8 lives and demolished a row of houses. Great real ales .

Great selection of beers . The cod and prawn cake was excellent. Friendly staff (very careful to allergy requirements) and nice atmosphere.

Belly pork , risotto and the incredible steak all recommended. The hand cut chips are also delicious. Get an aspalls in very hot weather or sample the local beers ... All round excellent pub

Lovely country Pub , great beer selection . Food however not great. Pizzas are ok, don’t get pasta , sent back Mac an cheese twice, lasagne was plain, that’s a lump of burnt cheese that I picked off.

Kevin McCulley

Great selection of good beers and a lot of space upstairs for eating or group activities. Sadly no soft drinks served draught .
