A unique waterfall in the river Seljalandsá, about 30 km west from Skógar. It is 60 meters high with a foot path behind it at the bottom of the cliff, but with a thin cascade. It is the only known waterfall of its kind, where it is possible to walk behind it.

Seljalandsfoss is pretty spectacular, but walk a few hundred meters North to Gljúfrabúi and see an amazing waterfall behind a canyon. You can even walk inside!
You can hike under this waterfall for an amazing view but wear your hiking boots--paths are slippery, wet, flat black rock surfaces.
Incredibly beautiful natural wonder. You can walk behind the powerful waterfall , just be sure to have a good rain jacket (with a hood!) and waterproof boots ! Don’t miss it.
My favorite waterfall in Iceland . You can walk behind it & enjoy the view . It is very busy on the day & difficult to find a parking slot so park you car on the information area in main road
Go in the afternoon/evening to (hopefully) catch the sun on the waterfall to give some nice rainbows. Walk the path behind the waterfall from the right (going left would be steeper) with rain gear on
The site is beautiful the only tip I Have to say is bring a Coat as you will get a spray from the waterfall plus be careful if going from right to left as rocks are steap and can lose your footing
Beautiful waterfall where you can walk behind the waterfall . The climb is not easy so be aware of slippy stones and you will definitely get soaked.
Maybe the coolest waterfall in Iceland . You can go behind it and take pictures which make your friends jealous back home.
Take a walk alongside the rock. There is second wf. You can go inside the rock and onto the wf too. Iam recommending. go over the parking square ahead the road , there is other free parking place.
Another beautiful waterfall , with the bonus feature that you can walk behind the falling water. Or skip that and make the walk to Gljúfrabúi for an even more in your face waterfall experience.
One of the top three must visit waterfalls in Iceland , astonishing especially the fact that you can go under it
One of the most famous waterfalls of Iceland. It is very picturesque and therefore its photo can be found in many books and calendars. It was a waypoint during the first leg of The Amazing Race 6.
Can get wet especially if you walk behind the waterfall . Amazing. Water feels refreshing and cold! Be careful as it may be slippery.
Heavily touristed but worth a stop to walk in behind this massive waterfall .. Wet gear recommended, or turn up the heater to dry off when u get back in the car :) you will catch a lot of spray!
Yes that is the famous waterfall which you can walk from behind. Must see! Directly at the ring road
Loved that waterfall . A unique opportunity to walk behind the waterfall and get some nice angles. Bring waterproof clothes for that.
Wow, spectacular! ❤️ You can even walk behind the waterfall for a full 360° experience!
If you plan on hiking to the top, then you might want to upgrade your footwear and trim down some layers before leaving your car. It gets pretty steep.
Don't miss out falls about 200m to the left of this (behind a small cafe ). You have to climb up a ladder at the top but the view down the gorge into the base of the falls is unparalleled.
Bring a spare set of clothes and don't miss out on a unique opportunity to see a waterfall from "the inside".
Amazing waterfall . If weather allows it and it's not too icy, don't forget to walk behind the waterfall . Raincoat recommended along with waterproof gear !
There is a string of several waterfalls here on a walking path . Make sure you get to the last one that looks like its in someone's yard. Its the best. Gljufrabui FTW.
Seljalandsfoss is one of the most famous waterfalls of Iceland. It is very picturesque and therefore its photo can be found in many books and calendars.
Wear wet great and hike to the back of the waterfalls . ???? Remember change aperture to a larger number, small ISO and slow shutter speed for amazing photos!
This stop is a must - you can walk behind this gigantic waterfall ! It's amazing!
Beware....there will be a lot of tour buses and people. Also the trail to walk behind the falls closes in winter but people still can jump the barrier at their own risk.
One of the best known waterfalls in Iceland . The waterfall is one of the most popular waterfalls and natural wonders
One of the amazing natural wonder. Free to visit. Parking area.
It's worth hiking to the top. Great photo opp.
Wow! It's fucking awesome! #Viking don't be rude here or else a troll will take you underground ????????????
Definitely take the path behind the waterfall – exhilarating! Expect to get wet. Start from the right – a little easier climb. And be careful: The whole path can get pretty slippery.
Go inside the cave of the last waterfall ! Totally worth the experience!!
Spectacular. Walk the trail back to the west and of course go behind this famous foss.
Stunning views and little gift shop for coffee and small pastries !
Make sure to stop here. You can walk behind the waterfall . The view is excellent
Make sure to stop by to take amazing pictures and to relax with the sound of the water. It is soul healing
Take waterproofs & gloves- you will get wet behind the falls. Great views !
Climb around and follow the path to the end there is another nice waterfall that you can get in.
Absolutely breathtaking. You'll get frozen and soaked walking around the back of it but DO IT ANYWAY!
Manage to catch beautiful sunset from this waterfall ! Beware of the splatter tho!
Easy to get to. Go to the right, to get behind the falls, its not as slippery
Magnificent waterfall top 5 of all Iceland waterfalls

Such a beautiful waterfall . We got to see rainbow too ????
Can walk behind the waterfall when the weather cooperates
Head here later in the day for better sunlight on the waterfall .

You MUST go behind the waterfall ! But better don't forget the umbrella! ☔????
Absolutely walk into the cave and behind the Waterfall !
Don‘t miss this hidden waterfall close to Seljalandgoss - Ralph Müller-Eiselt
Hidden hem, little off the ring road, but we were the only ones hanging out here in the afternoon, having it's beauty for ourselves and making it ones of the best experiences of our Iceland trip! - Maurice S.
Absolutely stunning. Best view is from above even though the climb is some work. - Maggie MacG
I really enjoyed the Glacier Hike. Definitely go for the earliest one (10am) to avoid the crowd. - Maayan Sheinfeld
