excellent place to visit as the Medicee family had such a strong influence on Florence, so much took place here including the birth of the Renaissance
Visit first the 'Michelangelo Chapel' to see the clever trick of window design to make the room look larger, and don't miss Michelangelo 's graffiti behind the altar . Then be wowed by the main chapel.
Michelangelo’s greatest work for the church , despite his leaving it unfinished like much of the rest of his work for San Lorenzo, is the SAGRESTIA NUOVA (1520–24 and 1530–33), the New Sacristy .
A stairwell leads up to the Chapel of the Princes, a mausoleum containing the remains of Medici family members designed by Michelangelo according to plans based on the beloved Florentine Baptistery.
Spent around 30 mins walking around, it was €6 entry. The dome was impressive and the works by Michaelangelo were well worth it.
The museum is part of the new sacristy , designed and conceived by Michelangelo , who built it starting from the same plant of the Old Sacristy of Brunelleschi . Read more

After the project for the new façade of San Lorenzo, the Medici asked Michelangelo to create their family funerary chapels in the Basilica. He worked on this project for much of the 1520s and 1530s.

Pavement joined to street by ramps. Wheelchair access is limited to the ground floor room via a ramp. The Crypt, the Mausoleum and the Sacresty, are not accessible, due to the presence of steps. Read more

Joli. A faire au début de la visite de Florence car le reste à visiter est bien plus joli. On serait (presque) déçu de le voir en fin de visite.

Impresionante , no sólo por las tumbas hechas por Miguel Ángel, sino por la cripta circular anterior. ¡Muy recomendable!
Por fora eu não achei muito bonita não, por dentro a coisa muda: várias estátuas belíssimas nas criptas da família Médici e várias pinturas nas paredes e no teto.
