A must do for travelers in Karnataka. Beautiful place with a very special energy. Tip: don't stay in Hampi. Stay across the river and enjoy the incredible natural surroundings of this area.
No meat, no alcohol , magnificent views . Try to find the English-speaking guide (there are a lot of them near the main temple ) and hire him for a couple of tours around.
Incredible place where u find yourself in the past!!! Pay visit to Virupakhi, Krishna, Achyutarai, Vitkhala Temples , Lotus Makhal, Elephant stall. Raft the river by bamboo board by no means!!!
About 3000+ temples , almost all of them without Idol. Virupaksha Temple , Lotus Mahal, Matunga Hill , Elephants Stable , Vittal Temple , Hanuman Temple and Pampa Sarovar are must visit places.

This historical site with some 3.800 (that's right 3,800) temples is just fantastic. Excavation and restaurant have only started some 40 years ago and are still ongoing
An amazing place. Great opportunity to see the "other" real India, if you are at Goa.
Beautiful view of sunset and sunrise! Karnataka is one of the cheapest state of India ;) ex., 5 bananas cost 10 ????, it means 5 рублей! :)
Really quite and very friendly place. Sort of takes you back in time. Best place I've been in India.
The very pretty place. The guest house better on another side of the river . There's enough 2 days for stay on. No necessary bike because of shot distance.
Idea for school teachers - take pics of most of the Ramayana inscriptions at the hazaar Rama temple and let your kids assemble them into a storyline
Always a best place to visit..Must enjoy the Banana and Sugarcane plantations.
Nice heritage site... you should have good number of days to explore the place
Awesome place for bouldering.. Sharp crimpy granite rocks..
Guest houses on the other side of the river are affordable and provide an amazing ambience.
Stay on the other side of the river , not on the temple side.
Other side of the river is more happening nd food is great too
At night take a stroll on Hampi bazaar street ... As life slows to a idyll pace

Hanuman gives protection from negative energy. A incarnation of Shiva, deeply in love with Rama. This is his birthplace. Ask for protection here - the energy is very strong. - Martin Glanert
The queen had such a big jacuzzi where one of the Lakes water of Hampi was diverted to this place! - Sanjay Kamath
Mmmh coconut banana pancake! And everything is pretty good. The best spot in Hampi. - Nicolas Mirguet
The best restaurant in Hampi! Great staff, amazing food, good prices, rooftop! - John B
