The highlight of the city ! Wonderful at any time of the year and day. Name an activity and you can do it there... Dont forget to stop by the locks and enjoy the view on the Ottawa river
It is as beautiful during the summer as it is during the winter. Take a nice stroll and sit on a bench to watch the boat go by. Or take a tour on one of the boat.
The canal freezes&opens for skating in the winter when the temperatures reach -30 degrees Celsius; in the warmer months it's a great walking trail ; not a lot of businesses on the side of the water
While cycling, boating or picnicking along the meandering World Heritage Site be sure to note the vestiges of years gone by, such as old stone walls and locks that still open by hand cranks. Read more

The fastest way to wake up in Ottawa is with a sprint along the #rideaucanal: My ME Time!
The pathway along queen elizabeth is really icy today. Nearly wiped out several times. Be careful!
Skating on the canal is my favourite thing about Canada!
Bring a backpack and plastic bags to carry your boots in while you skate . It'll keep your boots warmer!
Park at the World Exchange plaza at th corner of Metcalf and Albert then walk the two blocks over. It's free parking on the weekends.

Nasty coffee !!
Worst skates ever at capital skate rentals. So dull I couldn't even leave a mark on me if I tried. Terrible and way overpriced at $16. Butly your own at goodwill for under $15 then redonate.
Beavertails are awesome!!!
Is just in front of my house
No Winterlude crowds before 10am.
