Its great to check out once. Kinda expensive , amusement park prices. Make their own beer & wine . They do offer audio tours for added price ~ worth it. Basement level was our fav part of house

Sal Scalia

Come during cooler months because you will walk 6 to 8 miles if you tour the mansion and gardens . Photography is allowed but only with no flash. Wine tasting is included with your mansion tour ticket.

This Is My South

Splurge on a tour of the house, which includes the grounds, winery and Antler Village . Tastings at the winery are free with entry. Buy tickets in advance to avoid a line . Read more

Danny Boles

You can spend an entire month here and still leave feeling like you haven't seen it all... it's absolutely beautiful, in every season. Pro-Tip: Get the behind-the-scenes tour .

Liz Tan

Really wonderful place to wander around. It can get crowded , so be prepared to be patient. Also note the time on your ticket because we didn't and ended up having to wait 1hr before entry.

Kristin

Take the rooftop tour . Amazing views of the property and you get to see the original architectural model of the house.

Jacobo Gómez

Absolutely worth the (very) expensive tickets. Book ahead of time and spend at lest half a day exploring.

Kingsley Younger

They do farm to dining at their (at least) five restaurants at this estate that is opened to the public. Try the lamb salad with grilled plums as featured on Chuck's Eat the Streets.

James

If he had been able to sell all of his assets at full market value, at the moment of his death, Cornelius Vanderbilt would have taken $1 out of every $20 in circulation.

Julia Van Lake

Everything is so amazing! It can get a little hot in there during the summer. You will be walking sooo much. Also, photography is not allowed in the house

David Hosmer

Do the audio tour . Completely worth it and way more info than the brochure. About 2 hours. Also make sure to go to the beautiful gardens down the hill to the left of the estate .

Alix Record

You could easily do two days here. Make sure to come early and get ready to walk a lot. It's fun and beautiful.

Jacki Foroughi

I 1st did the tour w/o the audio tore & the second time I got the audio & it made the tour a lot more enjoyable and you get a lot of great information beyond the house tour guide. Worth the extra $10

Sabrina Aleman

If you want to save a little bit of money, get one audio tour and have one person designated as the "tour guide". The house is stroller friendly , with stroller parking & an elevator

Colin Lord

If you're coming on a crowded day, it's better to park in the lots that require a short walk. The walk is shady and generally flat...and you won't have to worry about waiting for the shuttle.

Tyler Lynch

The audio tour is a must. Be sure to visit the Stable Cafe as they have adult beverages . Ask about the sangria specials as they were only $5. Everything is so affordable at the estate .

Arlene Martin

Going on a snowy Tuesday was a brilliant idea. We were only two of 263 people on the estate - felt like we had the whole house to ourselves! Would definitely recommend going on a low volume day!

Heather Laube

Leave yourself time to walk in the gardens and around the estate . Beautiful.

Anthony Duran

The front lawn, the gardens , the trails , the farm animals and the wine ! Ask for Jennifer as your Somme, she's the coolest! And Amber does a great job with the animals!

Lisa Schneider

It's one of the most beautiful places in our country ! It's so much better for couples, can be romantic . If you can, leave the kids at home ????

Great self guided tour of house and grounds. Get here early to avoid large crowds and bottlenecks on the tour !

Brian Finn

You must see this French chateau-style mansion in person...it will blow your mind. We chose to experience it at our own pace - no tour guide or audio tour . Try to go spring/early summer.

John Buck

Absolutely beautiful! Magical, exquisite home. Friendly staff , and gorgeous grounds

R Simmons

Buy a season pass so worth it. The Behind the Scene tours are awesome, as well as the vanilla ice cream at the Creamery in Antler Hill Village . Don't miss the Tiffany exhibit as well .

Seth Gee

The Land Rover experience is great. It is a mix between showcasing the vehicle and teaching different 4x4 techniques. I learned a lot. I recommend the 2 hour class .

Ron Brindle

Wear comfortable shoes . Use the bathroom BEFORE you start the tour . Note to guys: You should eat something to take the edge off your appetite. And don't complain. This stuff makes her happy.

Enjoy the estate , but don't miss the Village outside of the gates. Delicious bakeries , unique stores, and eclectic selections.

Biltmore Estate was home to the biggest house when it was built many years ago in 1966. It had boasts one of the first experiments on sustainable agriculture.

Jessi Pearson

Go during the day in Fall to see the leaves and the Fall garens. If you go at Christmas , do the candle light night tour ! All the fireplaces are burning in the house and the whole house is decorated!

Chris Sherman

Make sure you look up... Most people don't look up when they explore and will miss some of the most ornate parts of the home.

Tom Gregoire

Get there early. Crowds start around 10:00 and house is not air conditioned . Pack a lunch because you could be there all day with so many things to see and do.

Theodore Kim

Spectacular castle , er, mansion. The tour is pricey , but well worth it. And don't forget to explore the beautiful grounds. And bring your camera . Photo ops galore.

Kathryn Turner

Legacy of the Land tour and Architect tour are my favorites. For outdoor activities ? I love the archery ( rarely available) and segway tour

Take the audio tour . Well worth the $10 to guide you through the house and explain the different rooms. Perfect place to take a break is before you go to the basement . Need to return to audio by 4:30.

Kristin

Come in right before 3:30 when they admit the last guests for the day. Your self-guided tour will be less crowded and you can take more time lingering.

Angela Trumbaturi

Do the audio tour . WELL worth the $10 extra bucks. Filled with stories you won't hear otherwise.

God Dess
