It’s incredible to see the sheer scale of Grand Prismatic Spring and Excelsior Geyser. If you want to be able to observe an entire spring with similar coloring, Silex Spring is about 5 minutes north.
Awesome, but know what you see in the books and pictures is not what you see in person. You are not elevated above the pool.
A+++ place to visit in yellowstone. Check the colors of the fogs before to arrive...

Waited about 40 minutes to get a parking spot . Because of the wind we saw just a peek of the grand prismatic spring and a whole lot of steam. Maybe hike up to the lookout to see it better.
Absolutely gorgeous. This is a must see. You won't regret it! Take the whole loop. It can be a little crowded though.
Do this one in the late afternoon and you can get some spectacular pics.
Hard to see in the evening as it gets cooler (more steam). The overlook is great.
Take your time - charge up your camera batteries - you will need them

Check out the outlook. You’ll have to drive to another trail head and walk for 20 min.
