This location has a whole bunch of super friendly turtles . Saw one in the water so we walked over and about 12 swam over to us. Some even got out of the water!
This is also an awesome spot to have beach fires if you get the permit. If you do it towards the evening a bunch of crabs come out and nice shells wash up on the shore.
Very hard to find. Good thing they moved it. The last winter storm covered the old lighthouse sight with 5 feet of water according to the locals. The granite remnants are just to the right of sign.
After having trouble finding the site on our own, we found out from a park ranger that the stones have been removed for maintenance and the sign has fallen down.
Diamond Shoals, yum!
