The castle is not spectacular but your ticket also gives you acces to the Wasserspiele. Everybody had a lot of fun there. You will too if the weather is warm.
Beautiful palace in Salzburg. The famous 16 going on 17 scene from The Sound of Music was shot in the Palace Pavilion in the Gardens . Take an umbrella if raining - bit of a walk from the car park .
nearby the city .. a huge park to walk with friends or family, there is a play ground for the kids as well
They let you see only one floor of main schloss. Its trick fountains and gardens are ok, not great. I agree with post above, you can visit this place if you have Salzburg pass and time to kill.
Really easy to get to on public transport from the centre of Salzburg using Bus Line 25, with a stop just outside the entrance of the Palace , journey takes less than 20 mins.
Must see fountain show ! If you want to visit Zoo too Can bye combi ticket here! Would be little bit cheaper.

The gardens are nice and quiet . Good for a short break. Anything else is not that exciting.

The Gazebo from the sound of music is located here- very exciting!

die Magischen Wasserspiele sollte man echt mal erlebt haben. Leider war es bei uns echt kalt u regnerisch u daher nicht ganz ideal, da man auf jeden Fall irgendwann nass wird... Trotzdem spaßig!
Wasserspiele sind wirklich beeindruckend.

This was really fun. Go for the all inclusive pass - it shows you the interesting residence rooms. Walk down to the city in the direction of modern art museum. The view on the burg from there is???????? - Lisa Starbucks
So being able to go on this tour was amazing. Singing along on the bus whilst meeting new people was wonderful and the stops you go to are where they filmed the outside shots from the film! Worth it! - L¡v
