Þórsmörk is a valley in Iceland that was named after the Norse god Þór (Thor). It is situated in the south of Iceland between the glaciers Tindfjallajökull and Eyjafjallajökull.
Stunning area for hiking and camping . There are several huts in the area. Trails not super well marked all the time.
Valley’s so beautiful. It’s so rewarding after Landmannalaugar or Fimmvorduhals
If you're driving, you need a 4x4 vehicle to get here
You need a 4WD. Quite some river crossings

Much cheaper than the volcano huts, AND has a better view. Also, a great starting place for day hikes in the area of Thorsmork. - Jeff E
