Neuschwanstein Castle is a palace Hohenschwangau located in Germany.
Neuschwansteinstr. 20 87645 Hohenschwangau Germany
Surroundings of the castle and castle itself are so picturesque, stunning, and breathtaking... but inside the castle is dark and gloomy. Obviously, the resident (king Ludwig II) was an unhappy person.
If you can, avoid the crowds! Take the 10-15 minute walk to the view bridge of the castle - great angle for pictures. Castle is amazing and worth the trip.
Tour felt rushed and only covers the small-ish percentage of the castle which was fully completed but it's an impressive building nonetheless and worth a visit if nearby
A must visit in Bavaria! Beautiful castle . Book ahead of time, check the language of the tour you’re booking . Currently some parts of the castle are closed for renovations. Go to the bridge for pics!
A must see. Completely crowded , even in wintertime. Marienbrucke And the road there closed even if there was a bit of snow ???? Parking 7€. Road up is quite easy, if with child worth to take a stroller.
An absolute must. Book the bus up the mountain from the information centre rather than walk. Book online for the castle tour and.collect your tickets from the info centre.
Beautiful spot. Tickets for the guided tour sell out early,l. However, the guided tour lasts about 30 minutes and really isn’t worth much. The walk up top is great. Wear super comfortable shoes .
Scenic view , tiny lake , Disney used it as an inspiration, hordes of tourists and long walks (among dozens of other visitors). Once is enough. Once is something you should do though.
About an hour and half outside of Munich downtown, prepare to hike for 15-20 min uphill , this is the castle where Disney got Inspirations from . We didn't get a good picture because of the weather.
The guide is rushed. Better read up on some history beforehand so that when you're inside, you can really spend time appreciating the different spectacles in the rooms, than listening to the history.
I hiked up to the castle , It's not worth the extra cost to take the horse-drawn carriage . In the winter the castle looks magical. If you like wine , try a warm mug of Glühwein once you reach the top!
Mass processing at it's best but once in a lifetime you've to see this great place. Reserve tickets online to save time at the ticket center and don't forget to visit Castle Hohenschwangau as well .
Beautiful Disney-like castle . You can do a 20-minute walk up from the parking area or hop into a horse car for 6€. Ticket lines are long on the holidays and you may not get a chance to enter castle .
Beautiful castle , it is younger that I thought, just a little over 100yo. You can't take pictures inside but interiors are awesome. Picturesque landscapes can be seen from the castle balcony
The 2 hour long journey from Munich was worth it. Absolutely beauty and full of history. Shame you cannot take photo inside the castle
You have to wait in the queue for hours to get a guided tour ticket! I have skipped that and went directly to the castle to enjoys its exterior and the marvelous views
Exceptional view . Beautiful castle . If I recall correctly, this is the castle that gave the designing idea for the castle of Disney
Don't let the view from the distance on a gloomy day fool you. This place is worth the visit. You can see why the Cinderella castle is based on this place. Pure Disney lavishness LOL
definitely a MUST if you're traveling to munich. only two hours by train . there's a pretty steep hike to the castle so bring comfy shoes !
U can reserve your tickets but don't have to, an Audio Guide ist recomended, and enjoy the way there threw the towns around like Füssen, try some "Bratwurst " and take your time to get to the castle ..
Beautiful Castle , smaller than expected. Ticket ~13€. A lot of asian and american tourists :) Unfortunately the Marienbridge was closed = bad view . Fairytale atmosphere. ????
Must see!!! Hike to the bridge should be compulsory- spectacular vistas!!! Remember to reserve tickets online to avoid long lines ...
A mingling of Romanesque, Gothic, and Byzantine architecture with 19th-century technology such as warm running water, flushing toilets and central heat. Only 15 of the planned 200 rooms were finished.
Bayern ticket from Munich centre to Füssen & then bus to information centre. Nice walks. Book your tour one day before to be sure to have the desired language and time slot.
Cinderella's Castle was inspired by this majestic schloss located in beautiful Bavaria. If you must, visit during fall or winter to avoid summer's five-hour wait. Stop by the gift shop after the tour .
Took an “off-road” path to get back from Neuschwanstein, way better than the main path. The castle looks amazing, no matter when you go. Rainy weather shouldn’t stop anyone from visiting.
Notice many Wagner references: a false cave and winter garden evoke the legend of Tannhäuser, the great hall Lohengrin. – Green Guide Editor
Beautiful as in a fairytale. Most majestic castle of King Ludvig II of Bavaria. Immerse yourself and enjoy!
After the mandatory tour , after the souvenir shop as you exit the castle and close the doors behind you - turn left and go visit the bridge for awhile picture of the palace . Ignore the fence.
Honestly the best part was the view of the fields outside on the back of the castle . Unfortunately, the castle was undergoing renovation, so the tour was cut short .
Stunning castle . The castle itself is small (the tour is quite quick), but it’s beautiful
Drive from Munich is full of great views of the countryside. The viewing bridge for the castle is a must but can get a bit crowded .
Two quick ones ... First, get there early, tickets per language book quickly. Second, the bus up to Neuschwanstein fills quickly also. Plan on at least 2 bus cycles + 10 min (50m in summer) to go.
Take the bus or the carriage up and walk back down! But either way make sure you go inside! It's like walking into the Disney castle you can see all over where Disney drew inspiration from!
Beautiful picturesque castle . Didn’t tour but didn’t feel need to. Quick the hike up to the top. Be warned.
A place you can never ever miss. Make sure you are well fit to walk upper hill . It takes about 40 minutes in a okay pace. By the time you get there you start to believe in fairy tales. Do it!
You don't need to sign up for the English tour ! We booked the Chinese one, then requested an English audio guide device inside the castle . Saved an extra hour of waiting :)
The obligated tour kind of rushes through the castle but you can easily wait, join the following group and, that way, see everything at your own pace.
What can I say. Simply beautiful! Make sure you go onto the bridge for a great view . Built by King Ludwig ll. it's was never completed. One of my favorite castles .
Hike to the bridge , even in the winter, to catch the view of the castle
Beautiful castle . Love it! Must walk to the bridge for the best view of the Castle . Watch out for the last bus down hill , if not you 'll have to walk down.
Climb the hill near the bridge , to get the best view
A must visit in winter. Don’t skip the Marienbrücke . Go there even it is forbidden at your own risk.
Must see in Germany! Amazing views ! Watch for The messy lines To take The bus back.
The hike up is strenuous but doable. If you have time just take the house carriage ride up. And go view from the Marien bridge . So pretty!
Lovely attraction but somewhat ruined by overly complex ticketing system with huge queues and rude/unhelpful staff .. Still worth the visit but it's a pity it couldn't be better organised
It is absolutely amazing!!!! Take your time to take photos!!!! I went on september 15 and the weather was amazing!
Definitely get in line for tickets right when they open at 8am or better yet buy in advance. And take the bus to the top! Super quick.
Stay past 8pm during summer... Everyone will be gone and you can have a magical stroll around the castle without a million people surrounding you.
The fairy tales castle brought to the real world. Wonderful scenic views and so are the interiors.
Visit the Multivision next to the Café after the tour. Very interesting show on how the castle was planned. - Louis Cifer
Great paintings. No photographing permitted, except for a window view to the lake. Nice garden. - Mmle Blasé
If you’re on a time constraint for a tour start time, take the bus, it’s a hike up to the castle. Stop midway for great views! - Nicole Mills
Worth it ! Recommended ! - Gamonmas Ekkapat
Wonderful view of the castle Neuschwanstein and the area around it (sees and green), and of the gorge Pöllatschlucht (below the bridge). - Noémie Volz
Goulash with a mass of HB beer is a must-have in there (better than eating in the village!!) great price too! - Natasha Balczo
