The history and views are great for this place. The new museum to archeology and the active digs really allow people to see history in a living situation. Helps younger people appreciate.
This is a cannot miss for any American! The Archaeologist's tour was phenomenal! Plan at least 4-5 hours to see everything, take all of the tours , and spend time in the museum . Go on a sunny day!
1st on any historical site list for European settlement in "The New World". Awe inspiring. Visit and be thankful for the folks that saved and are taking care of this unbelievable treasure
Make sure to catch presentation of the historical figure Anas Todkill by Willie Balderson. He will make the history come alive. Must see!

Amazing place! A lot to see and a lot to do! Go in the church , sit near the water, see the archaerium and view the foundations of old houses!
Note to those driving here after 5pm: both Historic and Settlement close at 5pm. Unlike Colonial Williamsburg, you can't walk around after 5pm.

Go through the Jamestowne Settlement first, you will get much more out of Historic Jamestowne if you do.
Stand on the footbridge and see what's going on in the Pitch & Tar Swamp (so named because the colonists used the resin from the pine trees nearby for turpentine and naval stores).
The archaeological tour by Mark Summers is incredible.
Definitely take the Archeology Tour , it was a pleasant surprise!
Tickets are $14 for adults, $0 for kids under 15, are good for 7 days and also get you into Yorktown Battlefield (not Victory Center).
