The history of the museum is so well laid out that it’s hard not to enjoy. The outside interactive village boats and fort give any person at any age the ability to connect and enjoy the time period.
Don't go on a rainy day, they close all outdoor exhibits if thunder or lightning occur. My visit was very educational and the museum is quite impressive.
The historic settlement is not the reenactment area. It is the actual site where you can see archaeological digs and areas of Jamestown that include the Fort. The museum & visitor center are top notch
A few historical inconsistencies primarily dealing with African/African-American history; other than that, I truly enjoyed this museum of living history.
Beautiful and historical. So much to learn about. So informative. We had a lovely afternoon here.
Takes 2-3 hours minimum. Museum has a wealth of information. Recreated settlements and ship that you can walk through are all very interesting.
Thoroughly impressed with Jamestown! This place is so educational and made me want to learn even more about the area!
If you like biking , this is a great place to start. Then from there you can head up the parkway.
Fun to walk around and explore the ships outside. Friendly staff !
Worth checking out--some cool scenery and anecdotes.
Don't forget to go to Historic Jamestowne which is the actual location of where Jamestown was. There you will find the archeological excavation of the original 1607 fort site, the archeology museum , a
Love this place! Go inside the tents, see the James Fort and it's buildings and go see the ships ! All aboard!!!!
Really amazing. Worth the visit. Free on National Parks Day.
In 1607, a group of Englishmen settled in this location. Today, Jamestown provides visitors with various exhibits and interactions created to spark interest in the history of colonial Americans.
Looked fun if you have little ones. Otherwise, skip it and just do the historic site (unless you have the Historic Triangle Pass and it's prepaid).
Check out Jazz on the James this June 19th from 7:00-9:30! Read more
Check out the movie first if possible. It gives a little background on the history. Then you won't make an idiot of yourself like I did with my Thanksgiving reference. :) Read more
What a fun place!! Pack a picnic lunch and spend the day here!
This is a place to bring the kids! Average park visit: 3 hours.
Definitely worth checking out, took me 23 years of living in Virginia to go but I am glad I did
In 1607, 104 Englishmen landed on the coast of the James River and began to build the first permanent English colony in the New World.
Way better and a lot more than when I went during school! It was fun!

First settlement . Little, but interesting.
The reason we came to Williamsburg was to support the Jamestown Settlers reenactment. This was a wonderful experience and I need to come back. - Kellie Black
This mock village is about as accurate as it gets. Inspired by an actual village excavated elsewhere and knowledge from existing tribes the site transports you in time to early American. - Chad Hembree
This was my favorite part of the museum. The guy on deck gave us a good introduction. The girl working downstairs was very helpful and answered all of my questions. I loved it! - Chelsea
This museum is fantastic. The extensive exhibits are really interactive and alone would be worth it but the encampment and interactive outside exhibits are amazing and worth every second. - James C
The staff and volunteers here are super-knowledgeable about the history. Ask them anything! - Chuq Yang
Amazing place! A lot to see and a lot to do! Go in the church, sit near the water, see the archaerium and view the foundations of old houses! - Brandon Harris
Able to actually tour the ships...all 3 levels... - Patricia Auger
This place is awesome turn back in time. Plenty of history to see and interact with. Great tours. Get your tickets online. Two days would give you enough time to spend quality time. - Mark B
