There is a miracle icon, which you can see even outside. Also it's one of the main attraction in Vilnius: a place where old gate were located and now it's start point of old city
You should start your walking & discovering tour from here towards to the castle . Iconig facade.
Impressive place :) I would recommend to enter the city through this gate - surely the best way!
Make sure to visit the chapel to see the icon set in silver. Go quietly- there will be lots of people praying.
See the only surviving gate of the first original five gates in the city wall. The painting of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy, in the Chapel of the Gates of Dawn is known all over the world.
It's a very nice and religious place. Huge saint painting . Must see in Vilnius!
Completed in 1522, the Dawn Gate (or Sharp Gate (Ostra Brama ) as it’s known to the Poles) is the only remaining gate from the city ’s original defensive walls.
Wonderful entrance into the old city .
A bunch of homeless buddies live here, right inside the gate. Very communicative, though extremely foul-smelling.
