Omaha Beach is a beach Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer located in France.
Boulevard de Cauvigny (Avenue de la Libération) 14710 Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer France
Day 4 - Taking in Omaha Beach and its memorial. Continuing along the Calvados coastline, the theater for Operation Overlord, and then seeing the U.S. Military Cemetery at St. Laurent-sur-Mer.
Plenty of space. Good for parents with kids - let them roam free! Water is pretty shallow, though during low tides quite a distance away.
Omaha Beach is a beautiful place with a touching Memorial. Here there are about 9.300 buried soldiers who have participated at D-Day.
Holidaymakers enjoy the sunshine, while on June 6, 1944 US reinforcements landed on Omaha beach during the Normandy D-Day landings.
Interesting for people who are into WWII history, for the rest- a good stroll along the beach line
Such a nice place to be! But in mind, we're all still thinking about the war. Rest in peace
Quite hard to imagine how such a place could be flooded with soldiers . It looks so peaceful and calm .
Strange historical beach . Always remember, that thousands of soldiers lost their life here ????
Honor our fallen servicemen and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
Amazing experience
Eva Ruttger, our tour guide, knows a lot and speaks well about it.
Free parking by the memorial & placards in English/French explaining history
Walking these shores in person is much more emotional than seeing it on the big screen .
It takes the guts when one's think what's really happened here! I hear the battle and i see the soldiers ...
Spectacular sunset @beach
So many rocks!
Kippenvel.
