Mount Diablo Summit is a mountain Clayton located in United States.
Mount Diablo State Park (at Summit Rd) Clayton , CA 94517 United States
We drove up from the south gate road , parked at "rock something" and then followed the summit trail to the top. Great hike .
Gorgeous views on a clear day . Bring a jacket as its chilly up here. Not my favorite place to camp but it's a great hiking spot. It's a state park though so no booze or dogs allowed in trails .
Be safe! Cyclists are everywhere and they ride in the road . Expect that every time you come around a corner that there is a cyclist waiting for you
Worth the drive or climb or however you get up here. Great view , you can see all of Bay Area !
Hikers- trailhead parking lots shut at 5 pm/sunset. Plan accordingly. Mitchell Canyon trail to summit is a good 3k+ gain in 7 miles to summit.
It’s tall, but quite frankly less impressive views than the Bay Area mountains along the coast.
Watch out for cyclists & motorists unable to follow the rules of the road !
Great hiking here. Did the summit trail which is about 6 miles in length.
Come for the hill climbing, stay for the view
only in America: you can drive all the way and the actual summit is indoors.
Gorgeous view . On a clear day you can see Tahoe .
Always a good idea to bring some binoculars .
