You have to visit if you're coming to Turkey . It's the most amazing reconstructed historical ruins I've ever seen. Efes was the Asian capital of the Greco-Roman empire. Only ~1hr from Izmir airport .
Amazing! So many findings enlighten the history of the city almost completely but u should def use audioguide, enter the specialzone w/ houses and start from uppergate otherwise it becomes so tiring
Go early morning or late afternoon, need sneakers&hat, take a bottle of ice cold water, start from the second gate at the top of the area to avoid the hills .Pls bring something to eat for cats and dogs
Personally, was impressed by library of Celsius and a lot of tourists from Asia. dont visit it during a hot sunny days otherwise u might regret an idea to go there????
Breathtaking historical place. Huge walking area, go early, wear comfy sneakers and take water. I guaranty you will be amazed. Part of the monuments has been moved in Pergamon museum in Berlin.
Very nice place if you're into ruins and historical places. Be warned, you will need to walk a lot.Buy the Museum Pass card if you're planning to visit other museums in Turkey

Skip the mass herding of the tour guides and either go on your own, or hire a private guide. Also, go during warm months. Last thing you need to do at outdoor historic site is battling the elements.
The city was famed for the Temple of Artemis (completed around 550 BC), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
At times, the ruins can get really busy because of the cruise ships and there seems to be no specific way to avoid them. Would say go early morning or late afternoon to avoid the mid day sun. Read more
Huge archaeological site, definately a must-see. It gets very crowded during high season and when cruise ships dock at the pier . It gets hot, visit it early morning. Now entrance costs 30 TL

There is a dolmus from §elcuk otogar right up to the doorstep of Ephesus. You no longer need to walk/cycle the 3km road ! Yay to that!
We went there at 18:30, no queue and not very hot; Before coming to here I recommend also visiting Ephesus Museum . We used Museum Cards for free access to both of them
Very historical place. Too bad the other ruins are slowly crumbling due to the weather and other things. If you don't have a tourist guide you can rent the audio guide for 15TL. Wear close shoes .
The tour takes maybe 3 hours but it is impressive the good state of the remains. And they say it will take then at least 200 years to dig it all up!!!
Amazingly preserved ancient greet city . Absolutely must visit. Only price feels like a rip off 52€.
Best time to go is starting around 3 or 4 when the tourists crowds start to clear out. By 6 pm you will almost have the whole place to yourself.
You need more than a day to explore Ephesus. I recommend you to spend 2 days for this extremely beautiful antic city . You won't regret it
