Home to seven royal governors and the first two elected governors in Virginia, the Palace was meant to project British authority and wealth. From the large display of period swords and guns to the elegant décor and grand ballroom, the Palace was built to impress.

Best site in all of colonial Williamsburg . It’s worth all the hype and wait time. The inside is amazing and the outside is gorgeous. I would suggest that it’s the first stop in colonial Williamsburg .
We went were here for the historical show, following James Madison and Patrick Henry . Around colonial Williamsburg for the 4th of July 2015. The actors did a great job.must for patriotic families
The shear number of swords and guns on display is staggering. I loved how the tour guide role played and made the visit more entertaining.
Check your copy of "This Week" from the Visitors Center to see if the "Storming the Palace " show is happening -- great first thing to do in town : townspeople protest the governor.
Really cool! Check out the room with all the swords on the walls!
Funded by John D. Rockefeller Jr., this 20th century recreation of the original manor was built using Thomas Jefferson’s hand-drawn 1779 floor plan. (From Aerial America) Read more
