If you plan to see a ticketed specialty show in Colonial Williamsburg buy tickets early in the day. They were sold out of both shows we wanted to see when we went to purchase tix at 5p.
I recommend seeing the "Cry Witch" program they have. The people who put it on do a great job, and the audience gets to interact! The earlier you get in the line , the better seat you get.
Start your tour of Williamsburg here. Try to get there before 10:30 when they start the "Revolutionary City " with re-enactors outside. Gives glimpse of life in Williamsburg during revolutionary era.

Rebuilt capitol building with some of the interior still being original. Great guide tol.
At the Capitol you'll encounter the choices & challenges faced by Virginia's leaders as they engage issues of rights & liberty in the 1776 Declaration of Rights & the 1779 revisal of the laws.
Every position in the Virginia government in the 18th century were appointed except the men that sat here in the Capitol - they were elected by the people!
Be thankful for those who worked so hard while facing impossible odds to secure our liberty . Every American should visit this building.

Best site in all of colonial Williamsburg. It’s worth all the hype and wait time. The inside is amazing and the outside is gorgeous. I would suggest that it’s the first stop in colonial Williamsburg. - James C
