The wings are delicious, lots of flavor.Get a beer flight . Good pulled pork sandwich , very smokey. Bread pudding was big enough for two, get it with a scoop of ice cream . The cheesecake was great too.
Had the Atlantic salmon and crab cake . A bit pricy , but it's to be expected eating right in the revolutionary village . All in all a good experience with good food and even better service.
If you want to experience authentic colonial dining, any of the taverns in Colonial Williamsburg will work. Chownings is a good one - good food and atmosphere.
Such a fun experience, great atmosphere. The brunswick stew was excellent. Really liked sitting in the candlelight upstairs. They take reservations .
Liebotschaner Cream Ale , cold, smooth and delicious! Drink two, like they did in the Olde Days!
In Williamsburg, awesome place and everyone in character. ..Old Stitch beer is delicious with corn chowder and salads
The braised short rib sandwich , au jus, and garlic mashed potatoes was amazing! Don't pass up the root beer . It's the best I've ever had.
CROWDED. We waited 15 minutes to be told they might have a table for us. When we were finally seated at the bar , we waited another 20 minutes until we finally left.... UNDER STAFFED AND RUDE SERVICE
Got the bbq because of the reviews and was not impressed at all :( Pimms drink with cucumber was really good, welsh rarebit was really good with the side ham but definitely order it deconstructed.
Witch's Revenge - dark and light rum , apricot brandy , and pineapple juice . Nice, not too strong or sweet
Beer flight is a good sample of beers I've never tried!
One of the best places I've dined with kids..
All the food is great! Especially the pulled pork sandwich . Try the homemade root beer too!
Excellent apple cider to be had here outside.
The bean soup and sampler. So so delicious
The Old Stitch is a great beer . You'll love it if you like craft beer .
Pimm 's cup with it's cucumber and ginger ale is a must.
The House Brew is a great beer . Really crisp, not too hoops-y!
Spring for the travel mug; it's good for free refills of anything (including hot cider !) all year long!
The Welsh Rarebit should only be ordered if you ate a big fan of mustard . The mustard overtakes the cheese flavor. The snippets rock.
Hot buttered rum and brisket pocket is amazing.
Have a drink around back, very cool outside atmosphere.
The drinks were cold, the music was great. What a great time!
Turkey Trencher! Also...get a pint of ale !
Really good food. Something special
Turkey and cheddar on marble rye with basil mayonnaise is awesome!
A sippet is a piece of toast ; "rarebit" is cheese and beer sauce. No rodents.
I would not purchase the Butchers Block. Not worth the money. You get 3 pieces of 4 types of meat and 1 piece of hard bread . It would at most be a ok appetizer . The sandwiches were really good.
Great food, great beer and great dessert .
The Witch's Brew is a great and strong drink for just $7.50.
Turkey Trencher and a pint of ale !
Craft beers . We went for lunch and dinner both were very good. Outside seating for lunch overlooking the courthouse grounds just lovely. Try the adult root beer float as dessert awesome
Get the chopped salad
Skip past the abnormally long waitlist for inside dining , and instead head out back for dining ala' cart. That line moves fast and food is exactly the same as inside.
There's a beer they make in town here that they don't sell anywhere else in the world
Get the pulled pork sandwich for only $8.50. Great deal. Read more
Beer is good
Stop by the garden bar in the back for a quick beer during the day:)
Get here fast for a cold one, if not you will be waiting to enter due to the large tourist groups.
the welsh rarebit is very tasty.
Witch's Revenge is a must have!
BBQ sandwich is on point! (That means it taste good).
Not impressed buy the menu. Ordered a turkey sandwich and it looked like airplane food. Get the bbq sandwich if you must eat here. Beer was cold but they didn't have the one I wanted.
Awesome time here
Try the corn chowder-it's very tasty.
DON'T EAT HERE!!!! Way overpriced and BAD food. The sandwiches were like something you would get from a vending machine. This place is an embarrassment to the town !!!
Do not get French dip . The meat tasted like old lunchmeat and the onions were barely cooked (menu said caramelized )
hot spiced rum is awesome after a ghost tour !
POTABELLO MUSHROOM SANDWICH AND FAT TIRE

The lunch menu has the BEST fried chicken. Love it with a nice mug of nut brown ale. - Roy Blanco
They also do Ghost Tours! Highly recommend it!!! You don't have to eat at the restaurant to do the tour. - Rachel Thomason
Bison meatloaf was superb! Crab chowder was delightfully delicious! - Sonja B.
Great chicken bites and artichoke dip to be at restaurants in this area. Worth the trip. - Andrea Menzies
