Make sure you see the movies before hoping on the shuttle bus . It's a good foundation for what you're about to see, and in our case, it really helped to get the kids hooked.
Buying a ticket is the only way to experience all the place has to offer. You could walk the streets for free & see a bunch of buildings & miss 95% of what makes the place the key history site it is.
My family loves Colonial Williamsburg; we've been coming since I was little. The tours are different each time we visit, and all of the workers are well-informed. Highly rec the refillable mugs!
Get an annual pass if u r here for more than 1 day. It’s only $16 more and gives u access to annual member only activities.
Must stop in Williamsburg helps make sure that you hit up everything. Great movie and nice gift shop . Try the historic triangle ticket for discount .
Tickets totally worth it. pay attention to the schedule- lots of shops will close throughout the day due to staffing needs so if there is something special you want to see/ tour , make sure you go!
Check out the Powell house for lots of kid friendly activities. The area is a great place to just walk around for a few hours. What a gem.
Live re-enactments are well done if melodramatic at times. Most take place from 10-11am and 4-5pm, so plan your arrival time and meals accordingly.
this place was great agreed with prior tips needs 2 days to go through everything but definitely a great place and very educational on how things were in the past
If you already have tickets (and thus don't need to go in the Visitor Center), overflow parking is closer to the Revolutionary City .
You don't need to take the bus into the colonial area, there's a walking bridge/path. Look down while you walk, there are cool historical tidbits embedded in the concrete!
Lovely place to stay. Great staff and rooms. Within walking distance to all the attractions .
Make sure u get all ur events tickets as early as possible.
$42 for a 1-day adult admission?! Most of the historic areas and buildings in Williamsburg are open to the public without an admission ticket. Save yourself the money and support the local merchants.
Visitors Center worth a trip - fab buys on hand made soaps and powders - sustainably produced and packaged!
50% teacher discount includes college faculty/staff. Only available in person, but applies to either 1- or 3-day ticket.
Two performances not to miss.. Cry Witch and Pirate Amongst Us Ghost Tour .... Worth the money!
The free shuttles with passes are very nice! Easy way to get around Colonial Williamsburg!
There is plenty of parking even during the Christmas parade
Worth every penny. Spend a week; you won't see it all.
A must see!!
Very informative. One expensive gift shop , another reasonable.
Convenient parking . Gift shops stay open late !
Teachers be sure to bring your id for a 50% discount on tickets!
Be sure to make a reservation here if you want to dine at one of the taverns in the restored are!!
Great historical experience. Love the daily programs
If you just want to walk around and not see inside all of the exhibits , you don't have to buy a ticket.
Buy tickets in advance or be prepared to wait a LONG time ridiculous!!! Think they would have a better system
Easy and available parking
Very nice place
Tickets are consecutive. Not separate days. The didn't tell us until after we purchased
Right now it BOGO for annual passes
There is a 10% military discount with ID.
Be patient, parking was confusing.

They give teacher discount . :)
Yummy BBQ sandwiches - Morris Dawn
The tour was great and so was the Chocolate Drink - Susan G
Nice garden outside. There was just a guide (no craftsman) on duty when we visited, so this wasn't as engaging as the tradesmen along Duke of Gloucester Street. - Matthew Phillips
Start your tour of Williamsburg here. Try to get there before 10:30 when they start the Revolutionary City with re-enactors outside. Gives glimpse of life in Williamsburg during revolutionary era. - Mark B
This place is awesome turn back in time. Plenty of history to see and interact with. Great tours. Get your tickets online. Two days would give you enough time to spend quality time. - Mark B
Best site in all of colonial Williamsburg. It’s worth all the hype and wait time. The inside is amazing and the outside is gorgeous. I would suggest that it’s the first stop in colonial Williamsburg. - James C
All the food is great! Especially the pulled pork sandwich. Try the homemade root beer too! - Jill Robinson
